Well....Dentonite. I'm thinking about moving to Denton from my humble home in Nevada to get a degree at North Texas. Say something about Denton.

it's right on I-35 and is constantly, perpetually, and eternally under construction.

it has easy access to the place in the metroplex you actually want to go to, which is Fort Worth, and VERY easy access to FC Dallas. access to Dallas, which you really don't want to go to anyway, is more difficult. Denton residents are by no means considered Dallasites.

check wiki for basic facts like population, etc.

I live literally 5 minutes away from Pizza Hut park and I'm actually in Denton County.....although on the extreme Eastern edge of it.

I lived in Denton for 6 years back in the 90's.

PM me if you'd like info on apartments, UNT, etc.

I think the thing I'm most curious about is what sort of cost of living I should expect. I'm concerned about keeping my expenses down. Between an apartment, a condo, or maybe looking to be a roomate in a rented house, which is generally cheaper?

It's pretty cheap to live in Denton, plus you'll be close(UNT is within about 15-20 minutes driving distance) to PHP so you can catch the FCD games.

denton is also cool because you get good music scene, and it's close enough so if you need to go into either big city (Dallas is cool, despite what others say, lol) you can easily do it.

As am I. Wife works uptown and I love the neighborhoods there. If only we could afford it.

i have no plans to live anywhere but the glorious city of dallas texas for the rest of my life
id rather have a 1 room apartment in dallas than a huge house in some pre-fab gated community surrounded by lame shopping centers and chain restaurants outside of the city

Call me in 15 years when you figure out that it'll cost 100k to send your kids to private school and there's no way in hell you want to send them to DISD.

Highland Park?!

GTFO!

What's your problem with Highland Park? Besides all the other good things, it was walking distance to Tornado games for several years.

You have to live in Oklahoma to be within walking distance of PHP.

Right, because your kids will be completely well adjusted going to school with millionaire's kids. Good luck telling lil' Conor that he can't have all the gadgets and clothes that his best buddy Preston does.
