View Full Version : Comparing Inter to the best in Europe

Now that we have Cannavaro, I think we can say we have one of the best teams in europe:
4-4-2: Toldo; J. Zanetti, Cordoba, Cannavaro, Coco; Recoba, C. Zanetti, Di Biagio, Conceicao; Ronaldo, Vieri
I think you could argue that they could challenge for the CL if they all stayed free from injury. If they do stay free of injury, the main teams challenging for the CL this year will be in my opinion Manyoo, Real MAdrid, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Juventus, and Inter.

Wouldn't be too sure of the wonder kid being in your formation just yet.
That being said, if he does stay i agree that Inter will be hard to beat.
Good defence and will almost certainly score goals.
I kind of hate to say it but i think the Arse will have a great year in Europe this time around once they get their first 11 back. They were extremly well balanced at the close of last season as simply the strongest team i have seen in some years.Injuries to Lundjberg and Pires will take time to get their ideal line up out on the field.
It will be interesting to see what way Wenger, as the CL moves on and the players play more and more, leans in his favouritism. Will he concentrate on having his best players fit and ready for the CL or keep then fresh for the bread and butter.

Yea I think Arsenal will do well. It doesn't look like Ronlado will leave anymore though. Also, I swap Almeyda with Conceicao.

There a good team but when you have all these world class players, its harder for them to work with each other. IM not saying there a bad team, hell they have a great team, but i wouldnt be suprised if they get an early exit in the champions league.

Granted, they lost key players (and coaches) but I still believe Valencia deserves to be called one of the best in Europe, as well as Liverpool.

Ekelund: Yea I was narrowing it down to six but if I was to 8 those would have been in there.
Ugur: How so? Because they don't know each other well enough? 7 of the players play on the italian national team and six are in the lin-up. J. Zanetti has played for inter 7 years, ronlado 5, vieri 4. Recoba has been involved with inter for the last six years. Two years after he got their he was loaned out for a year. The year after he came back and has played until now. Cordoba has played there for the last three years. The only other player in the line-up I haven't talked about is Almeyda, who just signed with inter this summer, but other than that, everyone knows each other extremely well. So what do you mean

Ugar: IMHO, I beleive Inter's situation will be close to Milan's last year. After beinging in a huge load of talent (Rui Costa, blah blah blah), the only thing my friend (Milan dan) was worried about was weather or not all of the egoes could combine, and work together. Inter can acheive great things, and on paper, have, maybe, the best lineup in Europe, with everyone healthy. If they can stay injury-free, and they can work together, it shall be quite interesting.
soccerfan220: I believe Ugar was referring to the ego problem (stated above) as opposed to the fact the have so many nationalities on their side, but I could be wrong.

O yea thanks ekelund. I think they can work together- their coach, Cuper, is a good disciplinarian. So then it would go down to injuries, which inter have not had luck with lately.... oh well, i'll hope

Inter have the best line up in Europe... on paper. I don't think Inter will show anything all that great. I can't remember a time when they did actually. Also, I have very little respect for a club that is so eager to put millions of dollars on the field and still not succeed in playing good football (which is still far away from great or even fantastic football).
Strong team, great players, for sure. But it still misses something. Too many spoiled millionaires with too little heart I guess.
Arsenal... I think they are the main challengers this year. Once on a roll I think it's one of the toughest teams to beat.

Ok, you are telling me Ineter have never had success. They have won two champions leagues, three UEFA Cups, and 13 Serie A Titles, the third highest winning team in italy after juve and ac milan. They could whip ajax's ass if they played each other tommorow.

Their all-time European results are bit less then ours
2 times worldcup
4 times EC1/CL
1 time UEFA cup
1 time Cupwinners Cup
The two 'Championsleagues' you mention are in a time that cannot be compared to the present Inter situation, always buying players for idiotic amounts of money and still not being the best. So what they've got to do with this I don't know...
'They could whip ajax's ass if they played each other tommorow'
Wow... spoken like a true Jerry Springer guest!
Wouldn't you think that if Inter did not beat Ajax tomorrow they would be a big bunch of wankers? Having all these millions and millions of dollars standing there on the field. I'd say... if the price/quality ratio were 100% on both teams Inter would have to beat Ajax 5 or 6-1... at it's least. And that won't happen.
And that's what I'm talking about.
PS. Inter would in fact probably beat Ajax. Keep this Ajax together for 2 years and Inter wouldn't have a chance. But unfortunately that won't happen since the rich clubs buy all our gifted players away year after year. And still we come back every now and then, with new team of fresh, talented youngsters.
Face it. Inter doesn't have the history, the allure or footballing soul that Ajax has (and ofcourse other clubs).

Ajax suck inter are better face it. If we don't spend money wisely, then how did we get Cannavaro, Almeyda, Corrdai, Coco, Morfeo, Gamarra, and Adani for only 20 milliion Euros. YOu say we spend stupidly, think about some of these other teams: Real Madrid 66million for Zidane. Manchester United: Ferdinand for 30 million-What the hell? For Ferdinand? We spend wisely. You odn't konw anything about inter. Are team has friggin heart. You say are team members don't stay together long, you can read onle of my earlier posts. Or I'll just do it now again:
Starters: J. Zanetti 7 years at inter
Vieri: 4 years at inter
Conceicao: 2 years
C. Zanetti: Two years
Di Bieagio: 4 years
Ronaldo: 5 years
Coco: 1 year
Cannavaro: One year
Cordoba: Four Years
Recoba 6 years/Dalmat 3 years
Toldo: Two Years

I'm talking about MY team.
Let's hope Inter and Ajax will meet in the CL.
And what the ************ are you talking about 'we'.
PS. Ajax sucks? We'll both be dead before Inter's results can match Ajax'.
