I signed up to buy 4 tickets with MLSPR but I haven't heard anything from the organizers. Plus, the ticket prices were dropped $10 today : http://www.azcentral.com/community/glendale/articles/0713gl-soccer0713-ON.html

Can somebody shed some light on when I should hear? My friends have paid me so I need to give them some answers!

I went to the Copa panamericana on Monday and the attendance was so weak that it was depressing..... I expected Boca to draw and Cruz Azul to draw...especially Cruz Azul. We happened to sit in the Deportivo Cali section and they were the best fans of the night. They were enthusiastic and loud about their team. The Cruz Azul fans were pretty much reserved like the Boca fans, no emotion. In the first game the Boca fans were pretty much quiet, only about 2 peruvians in the whole stadium. I hope that they find a way to put more fannies in the seats because if not we will lose this tournament next year. They need to start off by inviting an american club i.e; LA Galaxy with Beckham and a tradicionally strong Brazilian club like Flamengo, Vasco, Corinthians or São Paulo. Teams like Alianza Lima and Caracas don't draw well especially Caracas.

Flamengo, Vasco, Corinthians, etc - they are no bigger than Boca Juniors.

The fact is, the tournament started on a Monday. Weekdays in Phoenix are hard enough for people to get around, especially for people in the east valley to come out here, but a 6pm start time basically ensures very few fans come out. I can't see Wednesday being much better. Friday should be a big draw but still, 6pm makes it impossible for a lot of people.

I am not talking about them being bigger than Boca I am talking about them being invited instead of Caracas FC and Alianza Lima. Caracas and Alianza Lima couldnt carry these teams lunches. Especially Caracas not having any soccer tradition at all. And also I don't think they marketed this thing good enough. If I wouldnt have been part of big soccer I wouldnt have known that it was taking place because not everybody reads the Arizona Republic everyday.

Terrible advertising + rediculous ticket prices + Monday at 6pm = DISASTER.

I was going to go, but then I realized I could buy a ticket to go see Chivas Guadalajara vs. the LA Galaxy for $25 at the LA Coliseum, so I may just save my money and make the drive. $40 for this event, in a stadium that seats 63k is absurd. Its a shame that it will be painted as a representation of the soccer culture in Phoenix because it isn't. Every ticket should have been under $20.

Exactly! and on ticket master website they advertised the seating chart as if all seats but 4 were full. I was supposed to sit in the coner by the redbird sign. Everybody else told me the same thing that was there. So, all well we wont be getting anything like this again...

I'm going to the games tonight (Wednesday). See anyone there?
I'm very disappointed about the tiny crowds --as I guess the rest of us are as well.

I sacked up and bought 2 tickets for tonight. I'll be in my blue Beckham Galaxy jersey. I hope to see another person there that isn't playing in the game.

I was at the game. The good news is that there were a ton of goals (7 in two games). The bad news is that the crowd was sparse and the atmosphere non-existant. I know that we'll rebound, but this is a huge setback in my view. It just reminds us that this will not be easy (but then again, I guess we already knew that).

Key News: TICKETS ARE NOW 2 for 1!!!! So buy early and often for Friday and Sunday.

According to the U of Phoenix stadium website, http://www.azcardinalsstadium.com/
the two-for-one deal is at the box office only.

I finally got a call today about our MLSPR tickets, and I was appalled.

They called me once, didn't leave a voicemail. I assumed it was them so I called back, and it was. I left THEM a voicemail.

This girl calls back, and doesn't really tell me why she's calling, I have to ask if it's about the tickets for tomorrow. She says yes it is, and then pauses, and asks if I have a Visa credit card.

I say, well hold on - where are the seats?
She doesnt know.

I say, ok, well how will I pick up the tickets?
She doesn't know, says I have to talk to her marketing director.

So I said ok, is he there? No, he has to call me. I even take down his number.

I never get a phone call.

Sorry MLSPR, but I'm going to just walk up and buy tickets tomorrow. There is so much unorganization going on it makes my head spin. Next time you guys should just buy the block and then redistribute.

I just can't believe she wanted my credit card #, but couldn't tell me where the seats were or how I'd get them!

Palermo, on behalf of MLSPR, we are very sorry for the confusion surrounding all of this...

Working with the promoter has been a very difficult task. They have continously changed their pricing and have not followed up with our members seeking tickets for the event. When we first approached them, they assured us that the plan we had in place would succeed and it failed to a large degree.

To say it is frustrating is an understatement.

As a group, we have learned things the hard way trying to do something good! Next time we try to support an event, it will be a much different for sure.

To follow up, they did call me at lunch today. Same girl.

But this time...

She says ok, 3 tickets, $60. And then takes down my card info.

But THEN, she says - "Oh, well we are offering tickets at 2-for-1 now, and you have 3 seats down..."

So I cut her off and I'm like, ok, well I only need 3 seats, so why don't I buy two for $40 instead of 3 for $60 and dump three tickets?

It has to be her first week on the job... Either way, I'll see you guys in 135 row 3 tonight
