Are there any new players in the team since the world cup? The only one I know of is Mario Gomez.

Alexander Madlung, Gonzalo Castro, Simon Rolfes, Roberto Hilbert, Patrick Helmes, Manuel Friedrich, Clemes Fritz, Robert Enke...hmm I think that were all... ;) :p

Some of them didn't impress too much when wearing the eagle on their shirt. Manuel Friedrich is a solid defender, but he didn't have a good season. IMO he should get called only in case his form improves this year.
Rolfes is also a good Bundesliga player, but does he really qualify for the national team? With Madlung, I'm quite sure he doesn't. What exactly does he bring to the table?
Helmes did a good job so far, although he didn't get much playing time to proove himself. Enke's qualities are also indisputable, it's good to have him back in the team.
I'd like to see Khedira play for us in the near future.

YouŽll have the chance on Aug 22th. IŽm really sure heŽll get his call up this time...at least this rumor goes around in Stuttgart currently . Well, in two days we do know more ;)

Your wish is granted, guys :D Khedira is part of the squad for England, as well as Serdar Tasci.
Madlung: no way. He shows that we are still remarkably short in quality at the center position in defense. Manuel Friedrich is a nice guy who struggled mightily last season as part of the relegation fight at Mainz 05... I hope he will improve once more at Leverkusen.
But this is a position where you can get to the NT really fast, because we lack quantity of quality. That's why Tasci right now has even better prospexts than Khedira IMO (on the short term).
Besides Gomez, Clemens Fritz might be the only new addition since the World Cup who has already established himself as a reliable presence where you know that he "adds s.th. to the table", so to say.
Of course, I would also trust Robert Enke any day to play in a NT game. He has what it takes.
Closest to that are IMHO Roberto Hilbert and Patrick Helmes who showed promising glimpses of their talent.
Judgement on Rolfes, Castro, Kiessling is still open...they haven't played that much anyway, need to prove themselves this Bundesliga season again.

I think Gomez is going to be a sure bet for the Euro 2008 squad. Possibly Fritz as well. Other than that we'll have to see who impresses Loew during the remainder of qualifying.

just bring back sebastian deisler and imagine for a moment a midfield like this :
--------------------deisler----------------------
schneider-----------------------------------frings
--------------------ballack----------------------
That would kick some ass!
I predict that khedira, tasci, gomez, helmes, pander will all go to euro2008.
Kiessling will have to have a very good season to get a look-in.

Yeah but Deisler isnŽt playing anymore at all. So I would love to see Khedira in his place. Sami is a similar fine player like Ballack and I can imagine they would work great together in the midfield. But anyway never chance a winning team or midfield duo in that case and Ballack/Frings are surely one ;)
As for your prediction, count me in
