I know that there are a few of us on the board that live in and around the Dallas area, and I've been meaning to get some feedback from you guys for awhile. Would any D/FW guys like to start getting together for matches? I think that we probably have 5 or 6 people (at least) who post here regularly, and it would be great to get together for matches.
Anybody up for it for 2003/2004? I'm sure if we can get a pub to let us use them as our "home base", as it were.
Who would be interested here in the Dallas area???

i used to live there, and my girlfriend still does. i'd like to get together when i come in to visit her. i was wondering if there was anything like this when we played in the FA cup and was kind of dissappointed that there wasn't

Sounds like a great idea. I've been bored all summer. Have been wanting to join a league since arriving here. Just say when and where? There's a lot of good irish pubs around here, don't think they would mind using them as a base.

there is a plca off of walnut hill and I-35 called Pugsley's. The Dallas Burn have been using that as a place for viewing parties for away games. Not a bad place.

how about the tipperary inn at live oak and skillman, or the dubliner on greenville. when i come in, i'll be in north dallas/plano

I would be up for this, seems all the good place are near downtown, wish there was a good place in North Dallas.

I'll try to find out about Pugsley's this Saturday when I am there for the Burn watching party. If anyone is interested in joining the party, you are more than welcome to.

if i remember correctly, THE LONDONER or SHERLOCKS, in addison are some nice locals in the N. Dallas area~

I haven't been to Pugsley's, but I have been to all the other spots that have been mentioned. Would N. Dallas be closer for everyone? I just hate the "plastic" feeling that the Addison bars have. I would vote for the Tipperary Inn or the Dubliner, but whatever's closer will do just fine.

OH how i do NOT miss those fake plastic credit card "multi-millionaires" in addison!! totally agree coach... if you lot get together before august, lemme know as i will be returning to england then~

I have to agree with the Dubliner or the Tipperary inn. Good Irish pubs. I live near SMU so i'm game for whatever is nearby.

That looks like 5 of us, plus Phishy before he heads back across the pond. Looks like our first match to get together for will be the Charity Shield, 8:00 AM on Sunday, August 10th.
I'll try and see if any of the bars will be getting a feed of the Celtic-Arsenal friendly, as that happens a bit sooner.
I'll start a poll in another thread so we can vote on our "Base of Operations"
