Does anyone know more about the rumor of DC United incorporating a soccer museum with the new stadium ?
I wonder if Kevin Payne meantioned anything to Andy Mead about this in his latest interview ?
I would love nothing more than to see the DC United stars of the past enshrined with the case of trophies (which presently are poorly situated on the second floor of RFK stadium).
Only a decade old, but the United club has amassed an impressive collection of silverware - which would be the envy of many clubs world-wide.
I would love nothing more than to stroll though an exhibit of Etchverry, Harkes, Agoos and Moreno jerseys and other DC United memorabilia !
Anyone have news on this ? Keep us posted !

Do we have any morticians in the house?
What would it take to embalm our "stars of the past"?

LOL! I'd settle for wax statues.

My first mental image was more of having folks like Eddie Pope living in a glass cases.
I'd hold off embalming until after they pass on.

At this point I'm hoping the wait for a stadium isn't so long that they end up putting the plans for it in a museum some day in the "What Might Have Been" exhibit.

The question is this: if a bust of Ben Olsen is made, do they make it with or without beard??? I say with beard!

Jokes aside, it would be smart of the team to have some of their advertising and publicity people acting as unofficial curators saving and preserving examples of each uniform, important objects such as game winning balls, etc. for the team. I would even suggest it go as far as requesting banners from the supporters clubs that were featured in key places during historic wins (such as the ones that were seen everywhere following our last Cup win against the Revs in the playoffs.)
This kind of thing is done all of the time in businesses (usually by an archives etc) and they can be of greta use to a company when years later they decide to have something like a retro 1996 season advert campaign.
If the team is interested I can submit my professional resume :D

Finally an expert!!!:)
Actually while your services in restoring & protecting LaNorte's push-up banner would be appreciated, we'd be happy if you could just get the smell out of it. :D

PM me I can find you a conservation expert in the Wash. DC Metro area... You may need to raise the ticket prices in the section though when you see how much it will cost :D

step 1 - fill pool with fabreeze
step 2 - throw banner in pool for 1 week, turning occasionally
step 3 - hang to dry for 14 days, praying (or dancing) for rain once or twice :)
someone fabreezed* the big Eagles/DC banner last year, and it was awesome.
Where the hell has it been lately, did it smell so good someone stole it?
* I love the 2000's - you can ********ing turn anything into a verb these days :D

You don't know La Norte that well. We want a clean banner but none of us wants to do any work. :)
Ask LN-Dougg on how hard it is to get us to do anything
If we could afford pools we probably wouldn't be in La Norte. :p
