someone fabreezed* the big Eagles/DC banner last year, and it was awesome.
Where the hell has it been lately, did it smell so good someone stole it?
* I love the 2000's - you can ********ing turn anything into a verb these days :D
Only if you conjugate it correctly, though.
I'm sure you meant to say "Someone febroze the big Eagles/DC banner..."

If we could afford pools we probably wouldn't be in La Norte. :p Not to worry, I was thinking cheap kiddie pool :D
step 1 - fill pool with fabreeze
step 2 - throw banner in pool for 1 week, turning occasionally
step 3 - hang to dry for 14 days, praying (or dancing) for rain once or twice :)

The flag got a hose down with Febreeze after each game and it was stored in a large Rubbermaid bin with a bunch of dryer sheets and Arm & Hammer fridge freshner boxes (and we didn't take out in the rain). It also got power washed a few times with outdoor drying. It's clean and fresh in it's box, either Goodwin has it or it's in the elephant room (although it as it has a white background it's no long pristine because people stood on it).
You can wash with soap and hose down but the main thing is to let it totally dry so it doesn't get moldy (living at RFK or in someone's trunk it wet is how these things get stinky).

fan banners would be cool ... and the jerseys through the years too.
I'd also like to see different scarfs and other fan memorabilia.
Maybe photos of the crowd and their fan clubs ....

Given that there's, what, a 50/50 chance (at best) that the new stadium will have a bouncing section, perhaps the museum could include a "Bouncing Nest simulator" to offer generations yet-to-come a glimpse of what the early DCU fans experienced in the Nest of old.
Picture it:
-- a planitarium-like semi-spherical ceiling for projecting vintage RFK game footage from the Nest's perspective;
-- a realistic bouncing platform under your feet;
-- replica Section 134 seats with break-away seat-bottoms to let museum visitors experience the do-it-yourself vandalism of the era;
-- a sprinkler system to douse museum visitors with stale beer
-- a fog machine to spew (accurately-rancid) smoke-bomb clouds
-- Life-sized robotic manakins (a la Disney) depicting Newbies standing next to you with ticket stubs and confused faces, complete with digital voices: "Dude, uuuh, I think you're in my seat . . . Dude, uuuh, I think you're in my seat"
Wow, Daddy, was the Nest really just like this?
Well, not quite, sweetie. We're not sweating our balls off.

wait, did I read the thread title correctly?
To me, this is like when you fall into a deep sleep and start having a really vivid dream. Then, in the dream, you get like all sleepy and stuff and fall asleep in your dream. But the weird thing is, your dream (in the dream) is also vivid. In that dream, the most wonderful thing in the world happens (usually involving a dairy product and a Czech model), but then you wake up from that dream confused, and then even worse, you wake up from the original dream sobbing.
Okay, carry on.
P.S. McOwen, did you major in library science or something?
:D

That's cool. Just try never to get that flipped-around: dreaming of doing wonderful things with a Czech product and a dairy model. :D
Then again, the reigning Miss Wisconsin is pretty hot, and those Czechs make some really great battery-powered . . .
Never mind.

It had better be a big damned museum. Given the glacial rate of stadium progress, all of the current DC United stars will have long since retired and we'll have to have room for them in it.

Cart <-- horse.
No kidding. While we're at it, let's just compile a list of all the great things we'd like in the new stadium.
Since the idea of actually getting a stadium any time soon is just a big jack-off dream anyway, what's to lose?

The beard gets its own bust.
If the beard gets its own bust, then Diablo's mullet should get one as well. What about those billboards of Harkes' legs doing a scissor kick that used to be all over the metro (Finally D.C. United)? I wonder if any of those are still around.

I think its a wonderful idea it gives fans home and visiting and tourist a chance to seee stuff won by the club or recieved by the club as gifts why should they be in some office...
Club Nacional has all their trophies on display in their Sede (museum/offices) and its open to the public every day and its free to look at all of our silverware which includes 3 copa libertadores and 3 World Club Championships...
