Yet another close game, Paraguay's game is the type that Mexico don't like to play against, but at least they aren't Argentina........

Our defense will have to be extra disciplined for this one, they are the key. Protect against their counter attack. I actually don't think their defense is that great. I saw the US constantly create chances but they squandered a ton of them. I think that if Nery can do what he's been doing, Guardado return to form, and Arce and Cacho continue to work hard the chances will be there. We must score first to open the field up, then we can hurt them with counters. I think the team should take a page out of what the U20 team did, which is lay back a bit and not make any mistakes early on.

Agree, but it helps if you can keep Argentina away for at least the next game......I rather play them in the semis than in the quarters..........:D

I think you get respect by winning cups and tournaments. If we were to beat Brazil and Argentina and lose in the final it wouldn't mean much.
I mean look at Italy, who did they even play in the World Cup? I know they didn't play Brazil or Argentina, they beat a decent German team, and a pretty good France team , and Austraila, who knows who else but doesn't seem like too hard a road. Most people aren't gonna remember who played who, just who WON.

Well at least now you're set up for the ''I guess it was just gas'' punchline in case things don't go well.
I'm almost wondering if Ramoncito's free kicks aren't worth giving him the start over Guardado against Paraguay. Even if he doesn't score, the threat will make the paraguayos play differently near their area.

My point is, regardless of who they put infront of you.. beat them, if it's Brazil, Argentina, or Australia and Iraq, beat them all and Win the whole freaking thing, and then respect comes by itself, no need to call it.

I see where you are coming from. In a tight game, you want players who can score on set plays.
There's always the option of playing one of them on defense, so both are on the field. Ramon hasn't performed well in back to back games (tired?), but given he missed the Chile game, he might be ready for this one. Of the two, who would you rather see on defense? Guardado has more energy to run endline to endline, but do we lose midfield strength by playing Ramon there?

I would like to see this lineup:
----------------Ochoa------------------
---------------------------------------
--I.Castro--Marquez--Magallon--Morales-
----------------------------------------
----------Correa-----Torrado-----------
--Arce-----------------------Guardado--
---------------------------------------
------------Cacho--Castillo--------------
I know many may questioned Morales position but I think he will do good there. Take a look at the last two games we had against Paraguay, Morales started in both of those games playing the left back position and well from what I recalled had a decent game in both encounters. By the way we need someone of his caliber on the field to take the freekicks.

I would still go with Pinto, I like the fact that he doesn't go forward that much. Morales will drive forward which will leave us more vulnerable on counters. Morales is a great free-kicker, but we still have Marquez to take them. Other than that I like the line-up, God I hope Hugo doesn't play Oswaldo.
