We're entering our 7th season of a drafted fantasy league for BigSoccer members. It was born when a group of us grew frustrated with the fact that all managers ended up with pretty much the same team, which wasn't really close to what happens in reality. So we set up a draft and self-police to make sure that no player can be on more than one team. Over the years we've also created a variety of cup competitions and, as interest has grown, we've also been able to introduce promotion & relegation between 3 leagues of 8.

If you're a fan of fantasy soccer/football, you really should consider joining. The draft itself does require a pretty major commitment over the course of 3-4 days in late July/early August, but it's also one of the highlights of the season.

We're currently looking for a few managers to fill out our third division (bear in mind that with cup competitions you're not really in "the basement" anyway). If you're interested, have a look in the Games & Fantasy section
http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=535
of the England forums, read up on the threads (the 3 leagues are called Small Rocks, Very Small Rocks, & Sand) and let us know you're interested.

The head honcho is Hal, who you can also PM if you'd like to join. Some requirements for you to consider:

- you must be able to commit to remain active for the entire 38 week season.

- you should be able to check in at least every few hours during the draft, which usually runs over a few days a couple weeks before the season starts

... and that's really just about it! We use the premierleague.com platform to run the league, so we also adhere to their rules -- points penalties for more than 1 transfer each week, player values that rise & fall depending on how many managers buy & sell them, etc.

If you have any other questions or want to express interest, the first step should be to introduce yourself on the active forums in the games/fantasy forum. We're a friendly bunch and would be happy to welcome new blood... but act fast if you want to join as there are limited spaces available and it's first come/first served!

We've come across this problem many times over the years.
Everybody has a real life to live, unexpected power outages, coupled with many players being in Europe, let alone the US time difference, has often led to only a few being on-line all the time.

If it's a case of not being around for a few hours, or even as much as two days (that would be absolute ceiling), we've developed a way to combat the problem.

Simply PM the player after you in the draft with several messages and they'll post your picks as your turn arrives.
Now, it's a tad more complicated than that, as will be explained if you join, but thats the meat of it.

Well, not to be awkward Nice, but, 'provisionally' won't reserve a spot if two others post a full commitment - if you're truly interested, I encourage you to post in the section.

(You're on here enough to make it work ;))

I'm interested.

As I mentioned to Nice, this is not the forum to post any intent in.

We will probably need two (at most three) new members for the third division to be up to full strength due to previosu players unable to return.

Follow the link and look at the various threads - post about interest if you can see yourself staying the full season.
