Toyota and Honda F1?

The common theory about why there are only rich teams in Europe and North America is that the domestic markets in the rest of the World arent strong enough to support local big teams. They would also need international revenue which they do not have since they are usually unknown outside their country or global region. But the most pressing problem is that they are in competition with the Western teams for their own country's attention and money.

Some Brazilian teams get closer to that numbers, specially in the 90's when real had value higher than dollar.

in present days, São Paulo have R$ 98 millions with a 5% per year growing (with recent real valorization probably will grow faster).

this represent U$ 50,7 millions.

Santos in 2005 reach U$ 67mil.

Corinthians, flamengo, Palmeiras, Vasco, Inter and Fluminense have revenue between 25-45 millions too, with a regular growning of 5-10% (in exception of vasco).

to 2008 our TV deal will reach U$520 only for campeonato brasileiro, and the tv revenue for the league, in present days U$11mil. for Vasco, Flamengo, Corinthians, São Paulo and Palmeiras will be 3,3x greater U$ 36,6 mil.

Formula 1 teams spend more than that in 1 season so unless you're only doing football, American football, baseball, and basketball this list is wrong. Not to mention that a recent list of football teams revenue was different than that listed

That's a Revenue List, that's why. I don't see formula 1 teams making that kind of revenue.

formula 1 teams are usually in the red. They spend money as soon as they get it and are only kept afloat by huge sponsorship and manufacturer's payments.

and F1 isn't exactly a team sport, which is what the list is measuring.

I would have thought that with each race having six-figure crowds, with extortionate ticket prices, and a global TV audience, there would be significant revenue there, especially with so few teams.

It´s like trying to calculate the revenue for the UK olympic team...Is it possible at all?

according to this, McLaren F1 has a budget of $400 million, so they must bring in a roughly similar amount of money, or they'd have gone bust years ago.

the two richest teams in Asia are the YOMIURI GIANTS and HANSHIN TIGERS, both teams have revenues of about 20 billion YEN. Thats approximately $160 million US Dollars.

These two baseball teams dominate in Japan in terms of Crowds and Sponsorship income.

For comparison the J Leagues biggest team (by revenue) is the Urawa Reds who pull in 6.1bn Yen or about $50m US dollars.
