Possibly a hard fought match in the midfield. Mexico's key to win the midfield is neutralizing Mark Gonzalez. Marquez or Magallon would have to mark Suazo as well. Take out those two we win the match.

Matias Fernandez is dangerous as well. Has he not been playing?

That kid hasn't even played in the NT or started I believe. He has done a mediocre job playing for Villareal. Hes a hyped up over rated player who got over paid when he had a good season in Colo Colo.

I'll have to admit that I have not seen him play lately, but from what I have seen of him, he definitely has talent. All the same, if what you say is the case, thats one less threat we'd have to deal with.

Ill give some benefit to this though , he has been through a lot of pressure when he signed with Villareal. His contract was a ridiculously high amounting to a lot of pressure from the team and fans. The team and fan expcted him to be the solution for a winning startegy , but hasnt happened yet . He was a good player overall with his current club Colco colo, but hes too over hyped and over rated Period !!!!!!
The player which we need to be most worried about is Suazo, who is strong and lethal when he has possession in the box. Mark Gonzales another player just needs to be shut down in the mid field as he is a good play maker. Gonzales doesn't have much activity as he barely plays in the Premier league , but he still starts with their NT team

I expect to see some mix of other players, maybe a Bofo, a Cuauh, a Bravo or Landin.
Anyone think Guardado should play if hes able?
He should play a bit just to get used to the environment and such. Get back into things.

I would not even think about risking Guardado against Chile. We re talking about a serious concussion not just any injury, not worth it . Chile having to go all balls out in this game and needing points is not the smartest approach. Guardado has proven in the WC he can play bad ass , like he did when he debuted against Argentina. He should slowly be getting rhytmn at the practices.
We need to see some new players against such as Landin since we have the luxury of already qualifying for next round
Viva RoCkism!

I would sub Guardado into the game in the second half. We don't want him without activity for a long time and then him trying to regain his level in the second round of this tournament. Give him 45, heck 30

Nery will not play due to his yellow card. He also needs some rest.

I don't think the non-"regular" starters will be sleeping out there.
Everyone's fighting for a spot in the starting eleven.

acosta gave him the first game to show what he's got and he was practically invisible, so he was subbed out at HT iirc.

mark gonzalez' main priority in the first two games (believe it or not) was to defend first and attack second... iirc, when he decided to go forward it resulted in the goal that started the comeback for chile. now since this game is basically a do-or-die game for the shilenos i expect gonzalez to leave the defensive duties to other players.

agreed. we have nothing to lose, we are basically assured of first place. the brazil and ecuador game will be a dog fight, ecuador wont want to leave without at least a point from the tourney.
that being said, i would like a starting line-up to look something like this:
ochoa
castro - maza - castro - pineda
bautista - lozano - medina
blanco
landin - bravo
with guardado coming in for a yet again invisible medina in the second half.
I would sub Guardado into the game in the second half. We don't want him without activity for a long time and then him trying to regain his level in the second round of this tournament. Give him 45, heck 30
whats the latest on his condition? will he be available for the game against chile? if he's alright then he should play at least 45 minutes vs chile. that will get him ready for the game against paraguay.
Nery will not play due to his yellow card. He also needs some rest.
hopefully, but why didn't hugo tell him to try to get a yellow against ecuador? that would of been the smart thing to do... do yellow cards carry over to the knock out stage? for instance, if he receives a yellow against paraguay will he have to miss the next game? if so, then hugol and co. fugged up.
this one could be a sleeper. Hugo will probably be resting a few players
negative, both brazil and chile still have to secure their place in the next round.

It's tempting to put him in, but lets remember how serious a brain injury can be if' it's not healed, or god forbid get another one.
We are in to the next round already, so the next game is a freebie (sort of speaking, but not really a freebie; you know what i mean), let's check out Landin and others, and let Guardado have this valuable rest.... I mean, I know this SUCKS, because the eyes of the world are on these games, and you know scouts are watching, but Guardado has a bright future, lets not fuk it up before it begins.

I disagree with you on that point, yellow cards are part of the game, and let them come when they may, we can't have that big of an "Achilles Heel" where if we lose a player for a game, we are done for. We have to learn to put up even with la baja of a great player(s). Look at Brazil, no KaKa and no ronaldinho for the entire tournement, something tells me they'll be ok. so If we want to dream of being a world super power, we can't depend on ONE player, we need to have faith on our bench.
Come on people dream big;)
Forget about "si se puede" It's "se va poder" :D
