On monday, his agent said.

West Ham topped Rangers bid for the Bordeaux midfielder and although he wanted to go to Rangers, Bordeaux have told him it's West Ham or nothing.

Not really the sort of attitude that we want. He has a reputation for being a trouble maker...........Yeah, so did diCanio............but we'll see.

Great player, right side of midfield, a very fast and tricky winger. Just what we need, if he wants to come to us

Faubert will probably sign for West Ham for a € 8-9 millon transfer.
http://fr.sports.yahoo.com/070701/26/mu3t.html

He played one game for France last year and he scored.
He played 92 games for Bordeaux and scored 9 goals.
He's not really a trouble maker.
He's a nice guy of French Guyana ancestry like Glasgow Rangers Jean Claude Darcheville, Chelsea's Florent Malouda ( I'm sure he'll sign ), former France (and West Ham, yes remember him ) goalkeeper Bernard Lama, and....me :)

Some info and a video on Faubert:

http://westhamfc.blogspot.com/2007/07/julien-faubert.html#links

When I heard this rumour yesterday (ish) I was left shrugging my shoulders a bit as I knew nothing about him. Although I have been silently wishing we would look toward a relatively unknown or foreign right winger instead of bleating on about SWP all the time.

However after reading the link above and watching the video I am quite assured he will be a good signing. The risk I feel with bringing in a foreign winger is that sometimes they can be all tricks and no brawn and they struggle at first with EPL defenders just going straight through them.

So I was comforted to see that Faubert is quite a bulky bloke with alot of pace. The first thing I noticed is the size of his thighs!! It seems from that video he can pass, cross and shoot equally well and is a hard battler. We will need this from a winger in this league. If Ashton is going to make his aerial threat known this season he will need good service from the wings.

So I will be happy if he signs. It seems likely to me but nothing has been said of how keen he is on West Ham. Anyone know? Also what is the correct pronunciation of his name? Fo-bear?

On the video the french anouncers pretend that it's an own goal but it was a Faubert's goal.

I think it just took a deflection off the closest defender.

Mighty frog is he as fast as everyone reckons?
I think i saw the international match on TV here. In all honesty i know very little about him. I liked Lama as a goalie. Also love watching African nations like Guyana play. Excellent athletes with some amazing skills.

Been a few clips of him on Sky sports. He is very fast, with legs like tree trunks.
Let's hope it all works out for the best.

Who does?

Is this how West Ham is going to force players to join now... hahaha, i dont see this kid / young talent staying too long. West Ham will be a stepping stone for his stardom, his only 23 i read. Give him 2 years, and he will be seeking a transfer.
