Completely agree with you. The man is just nutz.
He has no choice of words to be a commentator. BSs his way with things that he has done as a coach ... anecdotes, etc. Watching him at Fox Sports and sporadically listening to his radio show (when there are post match interviews that drop into his spot) ... you can quickly tell he is full of it.
But Bilardo has a strong support from the media associated to Fox Sports and La Red ... read Fernando Niembro and his clan. They have been "backing" him to be the head of all NTs ... and now for AFA. With all the "favors" this media sector would gain from Bilardo in either position. It is "unethichal" the way he proposes himself thru this media outlets ... and then comes back to "feel" honored that he is thought of, comparing himself to Platini and Beckenbauer!
IMHO, Bilardo put a cross on himself when he confessed the Branco incident. Winning by any means was fine in an era of limited communications, when the most influetial piece of media was El Grafico (opposed to him btw). Aided by the best ever player in his squad. But other that that, he shows a complete lack of ethics that scares from someone educated in the medicine branch.
Bilardo should go coach in Saudi Arabia or Qatar. "Steal" his salary with his BS and leave anything related to argentine football rest ... his 8 years in charge of the NT 2 decades ago are in a whole different era of football.

Vipnerd what I cant understand is how we can justly or not justly criticize Bilardo for his faults , yet have a complete mafiaso like Grondona for so many years. Whom does seem a likely canditate, please tell me:rolleyes: . FIFA is mafia man and whom the AFA puts in will be closely regulated you can count on that, I think Bilardo just may be the lesser of all evils no??:(

Well man, guess what my parents moved to Canada in the 1970's to get away from the corruption and the junta , and sure this is a great country but politicians are all like bananas, they are crooked, yellow and hang in a bunch:( . It sadens me to visit my country , so many things I love, so many more I detest, above all the spirit and passion are what I crave, but I cant shake the memories, the stories told of the days gone by. It is hrd to be an Argentine sometimes, but Im still proud,,,, a shit Im rambling now Viejo will shut up.:o

It's not clear though how Bilardo is an improvement over Grondona. But I second the ethics comment.
EDIT: I'm thinking that the best choice for AFA boss would be Pekerman...but I don't pick the bosses for some reason.

I vote Cesar Menotti or Diego Simoene, or for some laughs Mafalda that would clean it up politicaly:D

Menotti has no chance. he's not part of the Grondona mafia family.
Even Raul Gamez has better shot than Menotti... Actually Raul Gamez was looking like the last hope.
Simoene coaching estudiante means he's probably joined bilardo, and therefore joined the Grondona family. So in the future he might become a front, who knows.

I think the best candidates are Calderon, Simeone, or Cuper.
Cuper is a "nearly man" but who knows? He may have learnt from his mistakes.

you can forget about Héctor Cúper or Carlos Bianchi or Menotti's people like Jorge Valdano or Alfio Basile...

I remember the joy of the "avivada" of placing "relaxing drugs" into the the water bottle given to Branco.
I also remember the placing of a torn Argentina flag in front of the Argentina NT hotel. The end justifies the means, even if it means degrading a national symbol.
I recall the arrival of Bilardo from Germany '06 ... and the cameras of Fox Sports covering his arrival as if it was Pekerman or the players arriving. To hear his impressions ... as if he doesn't work at FS or La Red and can express his views freely there.
Two nites ago, posters, ala Boca/River, were placed thru out Bs As ... "Volve Bilardo, te perdonamos".
Bilardo is a lucky man to have a "movement" to place him in AFA. Disgusting.
