Which Americans are they recruiting right now?

The players they thought could help the club happened to be American. They are not purposefully "recruiting" Americans.

I don't think any, I think this dude JUST realized there are more than a couple Americans on the Fulham squad, and decided to chime in.

It also can't hurt that the american players that have gone to Fulham, have tremendous heart and work ethic, especially McBride and Bocanegra. Dempsey, although I am a revs fan, we will wait and see because of his limited action last year. McBride is my favorite american player and I really believe the Fulham fans admire and appreciate his work ethic and dedication to the club and his profession of being a footballer. I follow fulham closely because of MCBride, Bocanegra and now Dempsey.

I think that Fulham has decided to tap the talent that the US is bringing up. The MLS is a decent league and does support the growth of young talent and Fulham - at the moment - is a team with a number of formerly MLS and American players that happens to be a good and public one. There is talent in the US, and soccer in the US has reached the time in its life cycle where it will start to produce some world class players.

I think an American player like McBride is a great buy for a team like Fulham because they get them for relatively cheap as compared to players of a similar quality from England or other European leagues. Also, these players are national team regulars with world cup experience... in McBride's case, he's a world cup veteren having played in three world cups - having scored in two of them. That kind of experience is also invaluable and for the price Fulham paid (what was it around a million bucks or so?) is very hard to find elsewhere. I also think that American players are a good investment because culturally they will blend in better than a lot of players from Latin America or Asia who will have to overcome the language barrier. This is why I think a lot of teams are tapping into the US market. Decent quality players, good work athletisism and work ethic, national team experience + at a bargain price. :)

Not sure if I'd like to see Demerit at Craven Cottage. I think the defense (defence, sorry) looks fine as it is. Plus, this American thing is getting a bit silly.

Yes, maybe they can give up a league high in goals allowed again.

As long as Zat Knight is in central defense, we need help...

Well, lets see. Mcbride led the team in goals last year and is captain, Bocanegra led the team in scoring besides Mcbride, and Dempsey score a very important goal that kept Fulham form being regulated.

You're mistaking Americans awe inspiring glory that physically manifests itself in the form of a shimmering glow for arrogance.
Don't feel bad, though. It's a common error.
