Purely hypothetical, but let's say a friend of mine bartered some NASCAR tickets for some blue flares and smoke bombs, what would happen if they brought them to Foxborough? Purely hypothetical.

are they going to hypothetically light them within the stadium or just bring them to Foxboro Common and stand there with them?

They were hypothetically thinking of thinking them to Toronto.

Well, you can't fly with them, even in checked luggage, and I'm not sure if they'd be allowed across the border if you drive.

you'd be fairly retarded to do it even if you did manage to get them across the border. what is the point exactly? you'd be feeling all italian? is that it? maybe you could go find some law enforcement to murder once the flare dies down...

Well, if you're friend had remembered that I was a NASCAR fan he could have given me those tickets and ensured he had a nice seat in my van for Toronto...

Oh well, I guess he'll have to walk..

Prohibited Items

For the safety and security of our fans, the following are not permitted inside BMO Field:

# Flares, smoke bombs, sparklers or fireworks of any kind

Guess that answers that question.

Plus, since your friend would have to cross an international border to get home, he or she may run into trouble with several different authorities.

Not a good idea. With the 2 vans going across together and since it will be a large group with various US IDs, its probably a good assumption that that at least one van will be searched. If its found to be carrying prohibited items, the driver is found liable regardless and might face charges. Yes, it happened to me with something I didn't think was prohibited but found out when searched it was. They let me go after 4 hours and a nice lecture but that was pre 9/11..

Long story short, bad idea and don't lie to the drivers if they ask if you have anything that could be a problem.

I would hypothetically kick your friend's ass if he did something that would directly or indirectly bring negative attention to the Riders.

That pretty much sums it up.

And if your friend brings it, you can count on him not leaving Buffalo and possibly not being allowed on any Riders related trips and events.

I'll be sure to let my friend know then;)

Nah, they came into my possession and I have no clue what I want to do with them, and seeing as well...flares are a tifo in certain areas and we're blue, it just stuck. I had my doubts about getting them across the border in the first place, don't worry I'm not sneaky, I'll find something else to do with them. One question though, why is it considered hooliganism to light a flare? It's just smoke, adds to the look and people can visibly see it. I'm not saying I'm going to do it, I'm just saying what's the big deal?

Seriously, you've been on these boards long enough to have seen one of the ten or so threads that have been devoted to this topic.

Do a content search for flares and you will see why people are quick to put the kibosh on them.

webber, are you hypothetically making idol threats on the internet? or would you really hypothetically kick an 18 year old's ass (basically a kid?)?

maybe you could go find some law enforcement to murder once the flare dies down...

Latest thing I read on that was that he was killed by another cop. Ultras that was charged with murder has been freed of murder charges months ago.

So even if you equate pyro with violence  you need a better example.

I don't know if he would or not, but if I got arrested because some idiot decided it would be cool to bring flares across the border on my van ... an ass kicking wouldn't quite be enough.
