Whoah, haven't signed in since August 2003 on this site. I've been following this and the Chile board since about March. I've been meaning to sign up and post and I finally sign up today and I give the same email address and they tell me I already have an account. So yeah, anyway, here I am, finally posting for the Chilean National Team. Man how about that win the other night?I had livescore.com up and it was saying 2-1 Ecuador in the 90th and it seemed as if it were 14 minutes ahead in match time then what it was on T.V. so I was thinking Chile was going to lose, but then Suazo scores and then we get that beautiful free kick goal. I was elated and pissed at livescore.com at the same time.
Anyway, I have a feeling we are going to tie against Brazil tomorrow..2-2. Hopefully Matias has a great game tomorrow. This is my first real time being able to see Chile play. I realized they were playing the other night and called my cable provider to order the channels needed to see the Copa America and U-20 World Cup. C H I!
No Ronaldinho or Kaka this game, so it won't be a 4-0 drubbing. I remember watching that game and being pissed off that Chile was so awful at preparing against the set-pieces by Brazil. The only good thing about that game was seeing Sanhueza wreck pretty much the entire Brazilian team that crossed his path. I love the enthusiasm and effort he shows on the pitch.
Can't wait for tomorrow. Could be a great day for Chilean soccer.

Thanks.I completely forgot about this site for whatever reason. My spanish isn't that great. My father is from Vina del Mar though. But, I don't think I visited this forum in 2004 for the Copa America believe it or not. The tournament really pissed me off by the way, every match was so close and I felt we had a pretty competitive squad for that tournament. Very scrappy. Oh well. Hopefully we can make some noise in this tournament. I'm really looking forward to the qualifiers this year. By the way, I'm not too sure I like that line-up we are rolling with, but Matias didn't do too much against them in the friendly recently. Maybe he'll come on at half if we aren't generating enough offense? Can't wait for the match.
By the way, re-visiting that tournament, whatever happened to Sebastien Gonzalez? He showed alot of promise back in the day.

Brazil's got something to prove out there, and unlike Uruguay (comparison for the sake of the fact that they both went/are going into their second game somewhat embarassed) they did show signs of life in their first game. Albeit they decided to throw strategy and tactics to the winds and just see if pure talent can make it past Mexico.
Should be a good watch. Bunkered team against desperate Brazil team.

Matias Gonzalez is not starting?
Also, what happened to Claudio Maldonado? Is he in the squad? He could be useful against Brazil, especially if you're planning to bunker.

Matias Fernandez! :D He's too tired to play from the beginning.
Maldonado is hurt, and did not make the cut for the Copa America as a result.

Matias is unfit, tired, and now, apparently, depressed. He shouldn't even be playing Copa America... what he needs is a couple of weeks of vacation in the Caribbean.
Claudio Maldonado was supposedly injured... Acosta didn't consider him for Copa America for this very same reason. However, yesterday Maldonado was interviewed in a newspaper saying that he's fine and that he's in perfect conditions to play Copa America, so who knows...
Everything indicates we're bunkering, and Acosta is an idiot for doing this. We don't lose anything at all by trying to attack Brazil... he's not willing to take the risk.

Noooo noooooooooo... let's keep Matias as far away as possible from that fool. I'd rather have him play Plastation all day than be exposed to the corruption that is Mauricio Pinilla.

I hope Brazil shows some actual futbol today, but having said that...I hope Chile comes out and gives them a good match (maybe even win if the stars line up correctly ).
Always root for the underdog, unless Argentina is playing :).

So, Diego is out. It's a damn shame, I was hoping to see if he could be the man in midfield. But I don't blame Dunga for making the change, Anderson did better when he came in.
Surprise that Love is still starting, because he did nothing. I know Fred is injured, but even Afonso Alves would be a better choice I think.
I stayed up late tonight, it's 1:40 AM here, I'm debating if I should get up at 4:00am to watch Brazil-Chile. I hate these weekend times. At least on weekdays the matches start a bit later. Argentina-Colombia is at 8:40 AM, not bad.
