One thing I love about watching soccer is looking at all the banners. I think it would be interesting for more American fans to make banners of their home cities when they travel to US games.

I got the idea from watching Germany play San Marino in Euro 2008 Qualifications. All around the stadium were German banners bearing city and town names.

I also looked for it during the US/Mexico game in Chicago. Near one of the corner flags I saw a banner for New York. I also saw a Saint Louis banner.

I think it's interesting to see where people are from. It would be exciting to look around the stadium at US games and not only see American flags, but see big banners reading, "Philadelphia, New York, Louisville, Columbus, Rochester, Dallas, etc." For me, it shows a sense of unity. Everyone around the nation, behind one team. Just a thought.

C'mon you Yanks!!!

I have my SoCal Brigade banner. It doesnt say the exact city I'm from, but it gives the general location .

I like the idea also, it shows the american public that there are people all around the country that support the team.

I love state flags for that... and city flags for places like DC and Chicago. I brought my michigan flag for the mexico match in columbus, though I didn't think I should bring it for the gold cup final as I'm kinda leaving the state for good in a month...

...soon to acquire a philly flag for games though.

The Hawaii State Flag has flown at the last two World Cups. I was hoping my boy Ching would get a minute of PT in Germany, but it wasn't to be. Maybe in 2010 . . .
