Seeing On How Colombias Been Playing...
This Is A Very Important...its Either Win Or Go Home.

very important game ... as is the US one... to see how good Paraguay actually is.
I dont see such a blow out this game, and Colombia def has to wake up. Alot of people wish they had the talent that argentina has but shit I prefer Messi's heart for the team than his talent because against Paraguay Colombia showd no heart they were walkin when it was 2-0 and were lost on the field it was heart breaking and I actually lost a little sleep over it.
Its do or die and I hope that COlombia pulls a little shock on the Argies like we have in the past to bad Palermo isnt here :D but in all honesty if Vargas or Calero is playing I am going to cheer for Argentina as both those players are awful and have been bad since 2001.
Think a tie and a win against the US is what Colombia should be shooting for or hell a lose and pray that Venezulea and Boliva lose all their following games and that we can beat USA, but the way we played yesterday we deserve to be back home already. Our Sub 17 would ahve done a better job against paraguay.
the thing that hurts the most is Pinto has good players available to him but doesnt choose them because they are young or for another stupid reason. We played the Kirin Cup and Falcao of River was the only player to score. HOW DO WE REWARD FALCAO !!! WE DROPPED HIM FROM THE TEAM !!!
Pinto made a list of good faith and dropped 7 great players on the list because they have precontracts with teams in brasil, mexico, argentina and france !!! I mean come on u reward players like that. the best 3 teams in Colombai are Nacional (champs), Cucuta(semis of libs who lost a questionable game to boca), and Dep Cali and he only took 1 per team. When Tolima finished almost dead last in the Mustang league and crash out of the lib cup and he took 7 players !!!

Colombia could concede the worst loss in Copa America history if they play like the did last week.
9-0 or 10-0 wouldnt surprise me really.

Blasphemy!
Really though, I'm kind of hopeful about this. Even the least caring of colombian teams (even if this one is setting a new low) has raised their game for teams like Argentina and Brazil... now I don't know why they couldn't against Paraguay... but whatever.
We desperately need a win to stay alive though.

Argentina doesnt really scare me as Colombia usually rises to the occasion and does well against them but this team has no heart and Vargas has consistently been the worst player on the team every game we have played in friendlies and he is still a starter !!!! Calero is good but he is very inconsistent and shouldnt be our captain nor a starter on the NT. Ferriera has the biggest heart and should be the captain.
but I dont care if we win or not if Calero or Vargas starts I am cheering for the other team and hope that Pinto is fired. I prefer Pacheco or Restrepo to that clown.
Best thing that can happen
Calero will retire again but this time for good
IRC will retire
Vargas will retire
Yepes will ask for time to regain form
Pinto will bring the best players no matter how young they happen to be !!!
Johineer Montano at 16 helped Colombia beat Argentina in Copa America WHY NOT USE YOUTH PLAYERS !!!!
England Revolves around Lennon(19) and Rooney (21)
Portugal around C.Ronaldo(21)
Argies on Messi (19)
but colombia feels they are too good to use theirs !!!!
IRC, Calero, Vargas, Yepes have failed to bring us to the last 2 WCs please Pinto and God dont let them make us fail our 3rd !~!

Meh. Just don't see it as a reason to root against your NT. ;) just complain about Calero and the rest and leave it at that.
I agree with you on most of those points, though. It's time to change the guard, these guys have failed for almost a decade now.

Im curious as to how all the Colombians feel coming into this game?
Are you confident? Are you scared?
Do you feel Argentina will be difficult or not?
Do you believe you'll have a better shot than the U.S. did?

I feel what happened last game was a fluke. I mean its ok that Paraguay is a better team but to score 5 on us like that was def because that team just shut down. Argentina to me is the best team in the World but I am alot more scared to play a brasil than to play argentina who we have traditionally played well against. Argentina is better but Colombia has known to be lucky.
If we do win it will be like a 1-0 on a counter or something like that.
Argentina is always difficult no matter who you are and what they bring. I think Argie sub 20 would be a tough match even. Not because Colombia is bad but the depth of players Argentina has at all levels, history and the heart they always show.
As for the being scared part not so much as nervous because this team can either play like that again and get raped 10-0 or wake up and win. I see that their is alot of quality on the team but sadly alot is on the bench Id like to see
Zapata(cucuta goalie)
Zuniga-IRC-Yepes-Luis Perea
Chitiva-Mcnelly-Castrillon-Ferriera(should be the new capt)
Rodagella-Edixon Perea
this would take out our weak links that are Alvaro(too inconsistent), Vargas doesnt really understand what a DM is supose to do isnt wanted at Boca or Inter why IS HE ON OUR NT !!! , Calero ur time is up and u were never good enough to be on the team if we need a Goalie that old why not Bring Super Cordoba back. Arizala this guy failed to make Racing and they suck, and then failed to make the 1st team on Tolima was cut from that colombian taem but some how Pinto thinks he is good enough to start on the NT and take Bustos place who we could really have used on free kicks. Viafara has alot of creativity but he is also a DM and should Defend he leaves to many whole that its ok when our Defense plays the way they are supose to and usually do but even then against an argentina it is suicide
I jsut really hope we go to this game to win and dont bunker like little itchs !!!! Argentina is good but are far from unbeatable. They suffered to beat the US team till the 2nd half and Colombia has to learn from their mistakes and study Argentinas. Tho basically Argentina wasnt really clickin till they brought in Aimar then they were what everyone was expecting a grade A ass- handing machine

How can you not be scared after a 5-0 drubbing on a performance that looked worse than a pickup game? All the same, I think they'll play harder against Argentina, and yes, we have a better chance than USA of winning the game :) Anyway, that's my take on the game.

Hopefully we have enough pride not to go for a draw. The team does in fact, still look pretty good on paper. We need to go for wins.

thanks for actually answering with a level head. I was hesitant to ask, I didn't want to come off as arrogant. I don't ever feel comfortable when Argentina takes the field with just about anyone. I understand we have talent, but we bring talent to every tournament and I don't feel we dominate like we should.
I mean this in the nicest way, I hope Argentina destroys Colombia. Not because they are Colombia but simply because they are the next team and the line up Argentina has on paper should be able to defeat just about anyone in the world let alone this cup.
I hope Aimar starts against Colombia...
I don't understand what it is about Colombia, I watched them in the WC qualifying and they had such an exciting, young, talented team. Their potential was outstanding. I felt they would have played like Ecuador did in WC in the sense that they have that type of sleeper team that plays fundamentally sound (or at least can). I TOTALLY agree though that they seem to get down on themselves rather quickly. They don't face adversity very well, which was shown in the morale of the players as soon as they missed the PK vs. Paraguay and shortly after when they began to trail.
That lies in the hand of coaching. A good coach/player relationship where players look up to and respect their coach would never have a team give up on their coach and/or country. These kids now a days need to realize what it is to play for their country/flag/jersey/fans.

When Colombia has their backs against the wall, they usually play better. Last WCQ Colombia beat Peru 5-0 and 3-0 Ecuador when they needed those points to stay alive.
