CONCACAF's (almost) the same as last time - they announced that a couple of months back. There's one extra team this time (so presumably Belize[?] won't get a first round bye but Nicaragua still will).

CAF also has prelim playoffs to get down to 48 sides (that's what they suggested earlier anyway).

Regardless, the formats were "approved" by FIFA this week, so hopefully they will let us know soon.

(See end of article) The Asian preliminary round looks like it will take place in 2008 (after the main draw). Hopefully the Asian first stage groups will still also be drawn at that time (even with 10 or 11 prelims needed and only 8 groups that should still work).
