Just watched the Argentina vs USA game live, and Argentina , playing a virtual World Cup team against the USA, which for reasons only their coach must understand, played a second eleven, won 4-1; Tevez came on for the last 12 minutes and scored the 4th goal. He might have been a touch offside, but the Argentines gave a soccer lesson to the USA team.Mascherano started also.

This was a good example of why the USA can't compete at the highest level; in addition, the game was shown here in the States on an obscure Spanish-language station; can you imagine an England game being broadcast to England in a foreign language?????

The powers-that-be here who run USA football don't have a clue; last week, the USA played Mexico in Chicago. There were 60,000 there, and apparently about 50,000 were Latinos, all cheering for Mexico. This was a USA HOME game!!! Frankly, Most American sports fans couldn't care less about football...unless it's American Football!

and it was beautiful
the 2 hammers (former hammer) were the best 2 to look at despite their combined facial ugliness.

Tevez must leave West Ham. Look at how sad it is... Tevez was a permanent face for Argentina and so was Mascherano, Tevez cant get his permanent striker start like he deserves. Your club is ruining his career, Tevez must leave so he can work with Messi.

Remember when Mascherano was benched / dropped entirely from the squad not so long ago for joining west ham. See what happened when he moved to Liverpool, he got his position back. See what happened to Tevez?? he got benched, he must move to a bigger club to get his position back. I got this feeling he could have been left out of the squad or benched for the entire game if he didnt make a impact for west ham. He must leave, only choice for his international career to continue on a high.

The team we put out tonight was made of younger players because Bradley put more emphasis on the Gold Cup rather than Copa. Players from the Gold Cup squad either 1) were Euro based and needed a break before their teams began preseason training 2) were MLS based and did not want to miss more matches than they already had for the clubs that pay their salary. Not really that hard to figure out.

(The only question I have is why play two major tournements back to back like that but that is another question entirely)

Those kids that got to play, Feilhaber, Eddie Johnson et al, got some valuable experience playing a powerhouse side in a hostile enviroment. Sure the result sucked ass but the experience is going to prove valuable down the road.

Agreed that is sucks not to have it on FSC or ESPN2 but they lost the bid. I had to watch it online from the Univision website b/c I get neither Goltv or Telfutura.

Nice to see Carlos score but I bet Spector would have shut him down. ;)

The reason Tevez was not starting has nothing to do with WHU, much to the contrary, as he has been impressive in the way he has helped them avoid relegation, and is now in great form. It's rather that we can't start all our "star" forwards together; we need other players as well

Also Basile is understandably trying to find the combination that will work the best.

As for Masher, as he was not getting any play time at WHU, it's perfectly normal that he was not selected in the NT. But he has now risen to his real self, Liverpool or not, and was impressive yesterday.

I can't fault Bradley on his selection for the Copa. He brought his best team to the Gold Cup and won a spot in the 2009 Confereations Cup (something that they couldn't do at the Copa, even if they won it all). Also, I'm sure that he was under some pressure from MLS to release Donovan to play for the Galaxy. And DMB and Dempsey are better served by going back to their clubs to try to win a starting spot. However, this will be great experience for the players there and will probably help Bradley to see what young players respond well in the type of atmosphere you get at a high level tournament.

Also, the US Soccer Association has finally got this right by accepting the invitation to play in the Copa, something they turned down for the last 10+ years.

The games can be seen in english in the US, but only on GolTV. Part of the problem might be that it was unknown if the US would be playing in the tournament when the broadcast rights were sold. Hopefully next time ESPN or FSC will step up to secure the rights.

When the US plays Mexico, it will always be an "away" game for the US no matter where the game is held. That's a simple fact of life that fortuneatly hasn't impacted the US's performance against our neighbor to the south. :D

And finally to get back on topic, Tevez timed his run to perfection and finished with surgical persision. When I saw him going to goal, I thought that he had to have been a mile offside to be that open, but the replay showed that he was clearly onside.

West Ham have to do everything possible (short of third party contracts ;) ) to keep him. Does anyone know what his salary is? I have to believe that if Curbs sat down with him, offered him 75,000 a week and said that he will do everything possible to make sure that Tevez goes down in club history as the single player who turned West Ham into a Top 5 club, he'd stay without hesitation....

Right?

I don't care how rude it sounds, or how many of my fellow hammers turned around and reported me as well, (Traitors!!!   )
LFCfan07 get's from me, exactly what he deserves. You can edit my post, and send me warnings, but he is exactly what I said he is. No moderation will change that

I assume this is the goal:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j21H5f35yTA

If so this is the first time I have seen it. The way he took the goal is a classic example of the form he has discovered at West Ham.

Robbie, you should lighten up. Every board has it's muppets, it's just a case of knowing how to deal with them.
