There are no such things in France where you have to take what the authorities give you. It can be embarrassing since I saw guys with : ### ASS ##, well, you can consider that it's not that important since it's not in the local language yet there is also : ### ANE ## where 'ane' means donkey ; thankfully, I avoided those...

OTOH, I saw a guy with a Nissan 300 ZX having a 300 ZX ## plate. For long, I've thought the person outta know someone in the administration but as I'm typing that, I simply realise that it must be a completely false one...There should be 4 figures before the letters in this case ( 1234 ZX 56 ) ! And if I know that, the average cop should also !

For the one weird guy somewhere in the world who might be interested by that...I was completely wrong ! 300 ZX ## is possible ! So, someone has been corrupted in the administration !

(In Germany we as well have a structure for license plates, making it harder to get really funny things.
First one, two or three letters for the city or region the person comes from, then two more letters and than between one and 4 numbers.

But things like S-EX or SE - XY are possible of course.

So, someone has been corrupted in the administration !yes, the first number goes up to four digeits but they start at... maybe one digit though that would be VERY rare... but once i saw a 13 GG 13 (didn't notice the letters. btw they went by ANE in the 69 about a month ago, and i saw APE the other day, which works in both english and italian.

in the states vanity plates have been SO overdone... but i remember back when they started, the censors let a real peach slip by: FK NXN... :D

Best one I've ever seen was: 1M53XY

It might not have been intentional, either. The previous generations of Ohio plates had a combination of 6 various letters and numbers, and it could have just been a hilarious coincidence that it came out spelling that.
