No more expermients. Last night's lineup worked, for the most part. I want to see it again, or intact, atleast.

Defnitely keep this line-up only bump Morales add Guardado. Don't mess with it Hugo!

Honestly, i dont want to see Guardado play. His health could be in jeopardy. Sit him out until he feels 100%.

one thing i was thinking yesterday that made a difference were the pachuca players. they have a great team mentality. i was impressed the most by correa, he complemented borrego much better than pardo.
anyway, considering guardado is still not 100%, this is the lineup i would go with:
GK: Memo (getting more and more comfortable with him)
DF:gringo, rafa, magallon:rolleyes: (we desperately need more cb options), and pinto
MF: Arce (venado should come in as a sub, i think it would help him), torrado, correa, and i think cuauh should play on the left, hes done well there before
FW: Cacho, Nery
Subs: landin, venado, bofo

I agree, it is too dangerous after such a bad concussion -- plus we don't really need him for this game, especially after that great win over Brazil. He is my favorite player out there, but I would rather wait until the quarterfinals or later for Guardado.
I also don't think Blanco should start -- he can't really run anymore. The team on the field against Brazil was a young and fast team. Perhaps as a "feel good" sub at the end? Don't get me wrong, Blanco has done great things but this is clearly a transitional time and Hugo should go with the future rather than the past.

From our previous encounter with Ecuador,
México:
Guillermo Ochoa,
Ricardo Osorio,
Rafael Márquez,
Jhonny Magallón (Joaquín Beltrán, m.92+),
Oscar Rojas,
Israel López (Israel Castro, m.89),
Gerardo Galindo (Gonzalo Pineda, m.71),
Fernando Arce (Adolfo Bautista, m.46),
Andrés Guardado,
Francisco Palencia (Omar Bravo, m.46),
Jared Borguetti (Alberto Medina, m.46).
D.T.: Hugo Sánchez.
Ecuador:
Rorys Aragón
Ulises de la Cruz,
Giovanni Espinoza,
Iván Hurtado (Jorge Guagua, m.49),
Néicer Reasco,
Luis Caicedo,
Segundo Castillo,
Edisson Méndez,
Antonio Valencia (Oscar Bagui, m.88),
Carlos Tenorio (Félix Borja, m.46),
Felipe Caicedo (Edmundo Zura, m.58/Luis Fernando Saritama, m.68).
D.T.: Luis Fernando Suárez (COL).
------------------------------------
No wonder Ecuador's press is attacking Luis Fdo. Suarez. Apparently he has been working with a core of group players and he really has not improved the team (according to some of the press in Ecuador).
9 out of the 11 starters from our previous match are on the current Ecuadorian roster. 5 out of the 11 starters from our previous match our on our current roster.
-------------------------------------
The question is----
Should we go with the players that have already played against them? They do know what to expect (but they also know what to expect from us.)
I am just interested to see which 11 players will get to play together during today and tomorrow's inter squad training session. That should give us a good idea as to whom will start.

i would start with the same lineup as yesterday, but i would replace Cacho for Landin, Guardado for Morales, and Magallon for Maza (BELIEVE IT!).

I would not play Guardado. I prefer a healthy guardado in the Quaterfinals rather than a so so Guardado against Ecuador. Also Cacho should remain on top with Nery, they seem to understand each other. I don't know if Pineda is back but I would like him to sub Pinto, Pinto looked really shaky out there. Have Venado sub Arce in the second half, and please Hugo if you are going to take Cacho out play Landin not Bravo.

I agree with those who are saying repeat the same lineup mostly. Except for two subs, Guardado (if healthy) for Morales. Pinto deserves a second chance to prove himself, I think.

There are 5 players that should start for mexico on every meaningful game from now on Memo, Rafa, Torrado, Correa and Nery, they should(and I hope) become the new core of the team, the rest Hugo can switch as he want for all I care...........que forma de callar a la gente Hugo!!!!!!:D

How I would start:
----------------Memo------------------
--I. Castro----Rafa---Magallon-----Pineda
--Arce-------Torrado--Correa-----Guardado
-------------Cacho--Nery----------------
Memo has earned the right to start.
Castro earned his spot against Brazil.
Rafa is Rafa.
Magallon because at least he is better than Maza.
Pineda because although I'm not giving up on Pinto, I have more faith in Gonzalo against Valencia. Watch out for Valencia this kid can play.
Arce was f'kn great against Brazil.
Torrado is the enforcer
Correa seems to work well with the enforcer.
Guardado if he is healthy he should start. Valencia should be preoccupied with Guardado if la joyita starts. If Ramoncito plays than Valencia will have a huge speed advantage.
Cacho- Played well alongside Nery.

How I would start:
----------------Memo------------------
--I. Castro----Rafa---Magallon-----Pineda
--Arce-------Torrado--Correa-----Guardado
-------------Cacho--Nery----------------
I was going with the same line-up but seeing that guardado won't play against Ecuador I would change it up and go with something like this:
----------------Memo--------------------
--I. Castro----Rafa---Magallon----Morales-
--Arce-------Torrado--Correa-----Pineda--
-------------Cacho--Nery-----------------
subs:
O. Sanchez
A. Medina (Sub in 2nd Half)
L. Landin (Sub when Cacho gets tired in the middle of the 2nd half)
J. Castro
F. pinto (Sub If we see Morales isn't doing so well)

I agree with you elvasco.... The only other player I would add to this core is Guardado... Those should be the 6 core players. The rest can be interchangable IMO.. As for anyone that is not thrilled to wear La Verde, we DON'T need you! There are plenty of young, hungry players in Mexico that dream with wearing it!! Vamos Hugo... Vamos Mexico!!

This line-up looks ok, but swith Ramon and Pineda's positions.

I would come out with the same line-up.
----------------------------------Memo---------------------------------
I.Castro--------------Marquez------------------Magallon------------Pinto
----------------------Torrado--------------Correa-----------------------
Arce-------------------------------------------------------------Morales
-------------------Cacho----------------------Nery---------------------
I would keep this all throughout the Knockout stages......EXCEPT change Guardado for Morales when ready.
