I am planning on watching at El Poblano in Vestavia. They have a back room with a big screen TV. I checked, and they will be showing all the Copa games. They close at 9:30, but will let us stay and watch the entire game.

Sol Azteca and Fox & Hound in Hoover will also have the game available, but I've watched games at El Poblano before and they will have them on non-stop.

Let me know.

I'll be in Birmingham Thursday through Tuesday. I probably won't make it for the Argentina match, but I'll watch the Paraguay match. What time are y'all gonna be there? Any chance they'll be showing the U-20s as well?

I plan on getting there around 7:30. They would probably show the U-20s if you asked....as long as it did not conflict with Copa or mostly Mexico. I may try and get by tomorrow to watch some of the Brasil-Mex match if my wife will allow it. She is over 6 months pregnant and is about to go insane with all the soccer right now.

First off - that's awesome and thank you for the invite. However, I'm currently getting over two weeks worth of sick. I found out today I have chronic tonsillitis and have to get my tonsils removed. Ugh!

I'll try to respond some time on Thursday if my wife and I will be able to make it....if my wife will allow it. She is over 6 months pregnant and is about to go insane with all the soccer right now.Sorry to hear about that (the soccer part that is - not the baby!). For me it was... Step One: Marry a Soccer-chick! She's a former college player and we have a blast watching matches together.

Nope - but I'm a life-long fan of the Hoosier program, as well as the Purple Aces from the University of Evansville. I grew up in southern Indiana and didn't miss too many games from either program until my move to Bama about two years ago.

At any rate, thank you for organizing this. Please continue to post plans for future matches... even those beyond Copa. I think there are quite a few fans in the greater B'ham area and we need to figure out ways to get us all together.

Enjoy the match... and have a cold Corona (or two) for me! :D

Hope you feel better. We had a pretty decent crowd last night for the Mexico match. The owner gave us free rounds after the second Mexico goal. It helps to cheer for Mexico.

There will be good crowd tonight, and the owner is going to set us up with a spread of finger food.....and hopefully free beer for every US goal.

Fortunately my friends and I get all of the channels necessary to watch both Copa America and the U20s, but I figured I'd drop this BigSoccer thread here because we do keep up with soccer stuff in Alabama on it (and mostly in Birmingham):
