For those travelling to Canada and going to the July 1st game, it should be noted that July 1st is the most important holiday in Canada (Canada Day, marking our independence from Britain, it is also the day our constitution was repatriated). As such, after the game if you go down to the lake you will be able to take in the annual Festival of Lights celebration.

Chile was a strong side during the SouthAmerican qualif.games, in Paraguay.
For sunday, 2 key players are not playing: Alexis Sánchez and Hans Martínez, sadly.
I would like to know the canadian starting line-up against us. Thanks for the advances.
Chile:
I think Sulantay gonna play with:
Toselli; Isla, Larrondo, Suárez; Currimilla, Medel, Vidal, Carmona(captain), Cortés, Vidangossy; Medina.

Chile will be looking to overly posses the ball throughout the game. They may want to try to drive the ball directly up the middle, unless Chile changes their tactics.
Canadas set pieces may prove hazardous. Sulantay, Chile's coach, is having the team constantly going over defensive drills to avoid dangerous crosses, something that Canada may want to use during the course of the match.
Chile has been getting very comfortable with training on the field that will be played on this Sunday. It's supposed to be a synthetic turf, much different to what South American teams are used to playing on.

Canada starting 11 will probably look like:
Begovic
Attakora-Gyan----Edgar---Haber---O'Connor
-----------Ayre------JBB--------------
Peters----------Johnson-----------Jackson
---------------Lombardo-----------------
Though Ricketts & KOA could easily be starting also.

Lots of background on each and every player for Canada, from the impressive CBC U20 site.

Up until now I thought Congo were a joke side, not much different from the 1970 WC squad (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luNM0rJH-hY) ( :D ).
Now I just find out that their African Champions. Austria got to the semifinals of the U-17 Euro, but I'm not too sure of how they'll fare in their opening match.

Chileans completely dominate and full marks for the win... but WTF is with the diving? They kicked Canada's ass the first half without doing it, the second half was just disgusting

Diving is part of the South American game. :D
Glad Chile is having such a wonderful first game.

Oh, they're completely dominant... make no mistake, offensively, midfield, defensively, they've been awesome.

Hmm...I missed the match, I'm stuck with the Uruguay v Spain game (not a bad game anyway).
As Caturro said, it's great to hear they played well, hope they keep this form throughout the tournament.
EDIT:
Yep, they were dominant alright...

Chile did a great match, serious.
Imo the best players were Mauricio Isla(líbero), Nicolás Larrondo, Arturo Vidal and Carlos Carmona.
Jaime Grondona in his 1rst touch, made the goal, cool.
In Canada, I think Begovic was the best, specially during the 1rst half.
Now against Congo, with Martínez and Sánchez, we must advance to 1/8 finals.
Congrats to the chilean fans in Toronto's stadium!:)
