so much for the anticipated cup run.
i've always wished jeffers the best (at wednesday, anyway), and have thought those on his back fairly harsh; but he'll deserve the stick he gets for this.

Well, that sucked.
I suppose it means our players will be fresh for the league games.

I was watching the replay of the Jeffers incident on Sky Sports News last night. What actually happened to him? He seemed to be bleeding quite profusely from his forehead - did he cut himself when he headbutted the Vale player, or did he headbutt the Vale player because the Vale player cut him? I couldn't tell.
Jeffers has always been a bit of a live wire, even when he was at Everton, and I just hope that Laws's threat to transfer list him calms him down a bit. We need all the players fit and healthy and available if we want to build a foundation for a playoff run this year. If we keep on having things like this happen, we'll end up with more results like yesterday's.
Having said that, Vale's first goal was a screamer. No goalkeeper - not even Kevin Pressman in his prime :) - would have saved it.

I'm glad he was healthy enough to head butt someone... ?

... Good to see Frankie Simek getting a good run out too. Very encouraging.
apparently it hasn't been good to see, though. by all accounts he was wank v rochdale, and it seems he was well off the pace against port vale, as well. right back in the first half, and pushed up in a more forward role in the second ... utterly ineffectual in both. some folks are talking as though he's done.
cursed by electrickeeper at palace, he was. and when leckie curses one, one stays cursed. right mido?

good win on the road today. just a point out of the playoffs right now... and we should be two higher considering the blown points against barnsley.
heard gray went out with an injury. hope it's not serious.

It's so strange that we get spanked by Port Vale - who are at the bottom of League 2 - and we then turn around and put the beat down on Plymouth. I hope we stop this inconsistency.
Having said that, it's still a good win. It's nice for us to be up at the right end of the division early on, only four points off the top.
Also, I read that Simek might be off on loan somewhere to regain his fitness and get his edge back. I think that's a good move... send him to League 2 for a couple of months, rebuild his sharpness, rebuild his confidence with a run in someone's first XI.

that's two more points amiss. i was hoping for 3 from forest, 1 from boro, and 1 from our curly-tailed neighbors at the sty. after struggling for only a draw at home, there's a real chance of coming out of this week with only 1 point. that'd be a real let down.
