I want to study abroad in london next year, ideally for a semester. If I could pick, which season should i go?((fall/spring) Of couse i want to be able to see soccer matches. Since Arsenal is such a well followed team (with no hope of getting tickets) I suppose I'll have to pick another team i like that I would have a shot of seeing in person, such as Fulham. If I choose to study at UCL for instance will it be easy to travel to games? I heard Putney is a nice area with an influx of young professionals. Please give me any info you can regarding this. I've tried to do a ton of searching on the quality of schools there but I'm having no luck narrowing it down. I'm just trying to find a quality school to broaden my view of the world. Currently I'm thinking of studying at UCL's SOAS

Sorry, I'm not much help here, but I wish upon a lucky star that I could study abroad, in London!

SOAS seemed like a pretty cool place when I was there; I went to King's.

You will have a lot of time to yourself. I assume you're from the States? The amount of week in week out work in England is significantly reduced. You could travel every weekend, easily, if you chose to.

If football matches are your concern, the fall could possibly be the better choice, as the amended (read: pretty much final) fixture list for the falls comes out in early summer, giving you a chance to plan ahead. The schedule gets congested in the spring with all of the different cups reaching their peaks around the same time, and planning to see games definitely becomes a little more hectic and subject to change.

Brizzle if you have any questions about studying aborad I'm the guy to ask sinc ei Just did it last fall. Fall was great for me but my sister did spring a few years ago and loved it too you can't go wrong. You can still get Arsenal tickets-I went to 8 games I think all with the help of Rick. It was the best time I've ever had in my life and I don't think I'll ever have a more rewarding and fun 4 months like that ever again. Macthes are easy to get to as long as they play in London although if you were to get tickets through Arsenal America Rick was able to set me up on the supporters coach up to Manchester for that match. As long as you keep in touch with Rick you shouldn't have a problem. I studied through my own school's program since we have our own school there in London in Trafalgar Square but I had some friends from other school go through UCL and loved it. If you need any more help or have any more questions just post them here and I'll respond. Good luck to whatever you do it's definitely worth it. And thank you again Rick!!

i'm also looking into this.

shibby, i am wondering what accomodations you had, appartment or dormroom? how expensive was it to live there, not including the price for education (counting on the folks to cover this :))?

thanks in advance
