I'm v. new to town. There are obviously PLENTY of pubs around, but anyone have recommendations on where to catch these, mostly late-starting, matches? (Anywhere in SE London would be great.) Thanks!

The Sports Bar on Haymarket Street, just south of Piccadilly Circus. It carries a lot of non-European and non-English soccer sports. That is, US sports, rugby, etc for ex-pats. They are always open late for events in the US. I watched the NCAA tournament there a few years ago. Here is the web site:

I am going to try to save you from the Sports Cafe (my personal opinion only) with another option. I found this place when the manager found the US v. Mexico Gold Cup final on Al Jazeera! The answer is F3K (FamousThree Kings--http://www.sportspubs.co.uk/new_detail.php?pubscode=161) off West Kensington Tube. It is right next to the tube station on the District Line. Not SE London, but what can you do. I am sure there are other options closer. Best, Patrick

What´s the beef with the Sports Cafe? I´m thinking that will do as I will have just flown in from Barcelona, and my buddies work is only a couple blocks away. Is it over the top Americana, TGIF style, or ... ?
As long as they have a beer and the game is being shown, I´m there.

Intersting viewpoints on the Sports Cafe....you know my position (http://www.viewlondon.co.uk/pubsandbars/the-sports-cafe-userreview-4907.html) I think Elvis once said that there is room enough in rock and roll for everyone. Anyway, I have another problem, I need to fly to Frankfurt tomorrow and need to find the game there! Any ideas from the international set? Thanks, Patrick
