1st Game: Colombia vs Paraguay (r)

Perdónenme amigos, pero no quise leer toda la paja que ustedes escribieron, pero me causó parar cuando vi que un paraguayo trató de negar Colombia como la mejor defensa del conmebol. En las últimas eliminatorias, Colombia tuvo menos goles en contra que cualquier país. Y además, después de Brasil y Argentina, tuvo mas goles a favor de cualquier otro de los 7 países.
Admito que me da muchísima furia que no hemos clasificado al mundial con estadísticas como esas, pero por favor, no me digas que Colombia no tiene, ni lo ha tenido, la mejor defensa del hemisferio occidental. Con Ivan Cordoba, Perea, Yepes, Mosquera, y arqueros como Cordoba, Higuita, Henao, y Calero, hasta Argentina y Brasil sueñan en tener la defensa que tenemos.


Todo esto de la mejor defensa de Sudamerica es algo nuevo para mi, yo simplemente nunca escuche a nadie andar diciendo que la defensa de colombia esto y aquello, pero por lo que veo ustedes tiene todos los "STATS" como si fuera que estamos hablando de bowling o algo por el estilo, para mi y la mayoria de la gente los STATS son irrelevantes en el football por que You either get the job done or you DON"T pero si ustedes quieren el Titulo de mejor defensea en Sudamerica quedense con ella, yo me quedo con La medalla de Plata en Atenas y mis 3 Pasajes al mundial. Voy a ver si los STATS apuntan a que nosotros somos los mejores cabezeadores de Sudamerica y si perdemos el partido maniana por lo menos voy a poder decir que cabezeamos la pelota mas veces o que tiramos mas Corners o alguna otra cosa irrelevante.

Como primera medida, tenemos que aceptar, que la estadistica que cuenta es quien gana, quien queda primero, quien clasifica a la Copa Mundo. Eso nadie lo puede discutir.

Pero por otro parte, las estadisticas dan idea del rendimiento de los equipos y en ese sentido, la defensa de Colombia denota un equipo muy aplicado y eficiente en defensa. Recibir 16 goles en 18 partidos es un numero muy respetable y el mejor de Suramerica. Lo que es mas aun, si le restamos los fatidicos 4 partidos que dirigio el genio de Maturranga, donde se concedieron 8 goles, Colombia recibio 8 goles en 14 partidos!!!!!!!!! Y a excepcion del desastre en Uruguay donde recibimos 3, solo Ecuador nos marco dos, todos los otros fueron de a uno. En 7 partidos no recibimos goles.

Claro, no clasificamos, pero como Colombianos sabemos que de no ser por el impostor aquel, hubieramos ido a uno, si no a dos mundiales. Eso no es problema de los Paraguayos, ni de las demas naciones de suramerica, pero no niega la eficiencia de nuestra defensa.

Y tambien la estadistica no miente. Si se sabe que la defensa FUNCIONA ya el entrenador se puede fijar en sus otras lineas para ver como le puede sacar el mismo provecho.

I am really praying to have our Rodagol back not the rodanogella.... that he is known for in Mexico. This is a tight group and we dont know anything till these teams play. Its funny cause Paraguays coach keeps sayin colombia sucks although we beat them last month 2-0, and all the soccer channels in the US says colombia will come in 2nd :)

as for our team, I heard IRC is going to be the LB next game and Alvaro Dominguez will eat bench, really hope that Zuniga gets to start he has so much more talent than Arizala. Also hope Chitiva gets more than 5 mins like Pinto keeps giving him.

alot of soccer sites basically I think everyone in this group is on paper dead even other than Argentina. US should be but they didnt really bring their A team. So to me the 2nd place will be between Colo and Paraguay so Its def a important game, but think either will make it by being 3rd. I prefer Colombia to be 3rd because if Brasil and Argentina both finish 1st they will meet in semis and we wont meet them till the final. We would play against Uruguay or Peru if we finish 3rd and I think that will be the easist way to the final

this is what I am saying now but till tommorrow things can change. So I dont think anyone should be trash talking. I respect all the teams and would prefer Args to go out as well as the brasilians and uruguayans in the 1st round but that is highly unlikely tho it would make my day :)

What happened in Group A was more of an upset. We know Group B + C are fairly even.

I dont see why Paraguay and Colombia beating USA would be considered an upset.

The US was considered by many as the weakest team in the group even when people tought they where going to use a starting lineup, imagine now when they have a reserve team.

Ofcourse noone should underestimate them as they are still competitive and capable of pulling off a few suprises.

I think all 3 teams are gonna be gunning for Argentina, both Paraguay and Colombia usually play well vs the Argies and both are more then capable of pulling a win vs them... ofcourse its gonna be very tough.

that is the key OSpina is NT MATERIAL !! He is the best keeper in Colombia it doesnt matter that he is 18 !!! Calero sucks and makes to many mistakes.... I can see him today letting in a bonehead goal or getting him self carded for something stupid..... any way I hope this is his last time on the NT
