Oh come on with this BS! The player clearly went through the other to get to the ball. That was a f#cking clear penalty (happened right in front of me and confirmed when seen on Premiere) and the match was a deserved draw.
That match was like one of the old 15 round heavyweight battles! Two very good teams going back and fourth.
I thought you guys ruled the first half clearly, but could not take advantage. However, the second half, I thought was fairly even, if not won just a bit by 1860. You guys scored on a bad (from an 1860 perspective) or good (from your perspective) bounce back off Antonio di Salvo that Novakovic f#cking buried. No mistake at all.
The penalty was correct, no matter how many "sour grapes" are floating around this board. Hell, 1860 could have arguably had one earlier in the match, but that one was more disputable than the one that was given.
And I think you guys are cheapening a damned good performance by BOTH teams in a great and very entertaining battle with your bitching about a clear penalty just because the call went against your team.......
Keith, you need to lighten up a bit. Of course we are seeing things with rose colored glasses, that's how fans are.
Now watching Bwin - the commentator said "That looked like a soft penalty" or something like that. It was a bang bang play, but on replay - ball first and it didn't look reckless to me or to the commentator.
You know you have seen that same play a million times and no penalty is awarded, and of course you seen it another million times and it is.
I'm still happy with the point.

Well that's funny. The damned play happened right in front of me and I watched it again today on Premiere more than once. That was a clear penalty. Fullstop, no freakin' question about it!
I don't give a rat's ass what some commentator said. Because he doesn't think so, that makes it gospel?

Take off the rose-colored glasses. The damned defender went though the attacker before he ever got to the ball.
Even in ENGLAND that's a damned penalty.
I'm still happy with the point.
Then why the whining?

So why does your opinion matter either? You were probably 40 yards away from the play, you'd have to be superman to make that call from the stands.
As for multi-replays, that's the joy of football. You see one thing, I see another - we're fans.

Now you are just making fun. ;)
You never know if that's a penalty in England unless you clarify who's wearing what jersey.
Foot hit ball, trailing leg hit attacker. Find the youtube that proves you are right.
Then why the whining?
Once again, we are fans. That's what we do.

I agree that it was a well deserved draw! A very important point for the FC.
BUT if this was a clear penalty then Mohamad should have gotten red or at least yellow. It was not clear, not even the TV station (DSF) was talking about a clear penalty (they actually stated that it was NOT a penalty).

Think it was not just the penatly, it was also the foul on Helmes that was announced by the assi but overruled by the ref that happened right before the foul. In my opinion there was no foul and it was ok to keep the ball running, but that is just my opinion. Like i said it was an important and well deserved point that we took from Munich

...and if everything else fails we take the 3 points from the Borussia Park :p
As you did the last time? :p;)

How on earth was that a clear penalty? Maybe we are indeed whining, but then again you are no less dogmatic in defending your viewpoint ("no freakin' question about it"). :p
I can see nothing wrong with the tackle. It was risky, but our player aimed for the ball and IMHO he send it away before flooring your striker. The DSF commentator stated quite categorically that it was no penalty, and Kicker says it was a dodgy/questionable decision ("fragwürdig"). If you still think it was a penalty that's fine with me, but I'd dare say it was not even remotely "clear".
You're quite right that it was an entertaining game, of course, and a draw was perhaps the appropriate result in the end.

Do any of you know if there is anything to the stupid "Bild" rumor that Daum may be sanctioned by the DFB again for supposedly contacting his co-trainer at halftime of the 1860 match?
I use the word "stupid" because I don't think Daum did it.

No news so far, Co-Coach Roland Koch had to give a written statement by yesterday. During his Interview with the TV Station 'Premiere' (I didn't watch it) he must have stated something along the lines that he talked to Daum during halftime. Later he said that it was a misunderstanding, he definately did not talk to Daum, which can be attested by some people that were with Daum the whole time during the match.
The DFB will decide on this today.

I missed the interview too. I was at the stadium. But I heard he also said that he spoke with Daum. I know Michael Meier told the press he was in the locker room at halftime and Daum was not there.
Ah. See, the problem is, why would Koch "slip" and say he talked with Daum when he really didn't?
That is the major question the DFB will have.......
Thanks. Will be looking out for this one.

That's what I asked myself as well. I guess it depends what exactly the question was and what exactly Koch said. Taken from one of the papers from Cologne he said that he did not talk to Daum at all. In a second sentence he added that he had a short contact during halftime, he didn't mention any names though.
In the meantime some guy from the DSF can attest that Daum did not leave the lounge, neither did Christopher L. (can't spell the last name :p) nor did he see Daum using a cell phone.
Still no decision by the DFB...

The CC is not that popular in germany, although more locations accept them meanwhile there are still many (maybe the majority?) that do not accept any CCs. I can't pay at grocery stores (at least not those I shop at), i know a couple gas stations that do not accept CCs, but debit and there are some (few) online stores I know...
DFB decided: Koch has to pay a €6000 fine for this 'misunderstanding' or 'misinterpretation'. Looks like one is guilty as long as there is no real proof for being not guilty :p
Daum was released from any accusations.

Visa and American express need to get their sales force working on Europe and quick ;)
DFB: €6,000 - that's pretty hefty isn't it?

Actually, I think this is "cowardly discipline" by the DFB. If you have watched them not deal with FC Bayern's cheating over the years, you know what I mean.
I think this means Koch did talk to Daum, but the DFB determined that Koch contacted Daum.
Kind of like the Weidenfeller/Asamoah situation. I'm a BVB fan, but I think Weidenfeller said what Asamoah said he did.
And I think Weidenfeller was punished as if he did, but the DFB wanted to avoid the "racial outrage" and what it would have cost BVB monetarily (Rumors said the main sponsor was thinking about bolting), so they said Weidenfeller said something else "hurtful" to Asamoah.
Bullshit. "Cowardly Discipline". The DFB just wanted the situation to be over.
I think that's what we just saw with Koch and Daum too.

after watching the NT game I became a bit melancholic
Our 2005 attack plays now side by side in the NT and we are still in the 2nd league :(
