Tell me more about this banner incident. Its a prank if they steal it and return it, not good, but not as bad as if they burned it something else violent.

The ultra (hardcore) fans of gladbach lost their banner and accuse the ultra fans of cologne (Wilde Horde) that they stole it. There is no proof of who did it though.
The point (besides that someone stole it) is that the fanclub of gladbach had to disband, because they got dishonoured or so (it's a codex). So they are really mad I guess.

Why they left the banner in the stadium in the first place is something I cannot answer - in my opinion their own fault.

I like your version. Amuses me greatly :p:D

Theft is a criminal act. Why the Gladbach Ultras have to disband although they are the victims is beyond me. That has to be the most pathetic code of honour just after the "pirates' code" in a recent Hollywood movie... ;)

Having said that, I can see no justification for any group of fans starting a fight over matters like that, as I'm sure you will agree.

Of course, you can be sure. However, we all know that there's a few "die-hards" on both sides which probably won't agree...

Btw: Here's an interesting interview with the "Fanprojekt" chairman 'Tower' Weinmann:

I think it is a codex they adaptet from the roman legions, who also had to disband once they lost their flag.
But ino they should have just covered up the incident and bought a new flag.

However I just hope that the flag does not appear in the fc block during the game.

@ cookiely

What's your result prediction for Monday? ;) Are you going to attend the match?

I have no season ticket and I am not an official fc-member (:o shame on me) therefore I had no chance at getting a ticket, since the tickets never went
into the open sale.

my prediction

Köln 2 : 1 BMG

we will win because we have placed secret agents on teams all over the league.

Last week Sichone helped us. Tomorrow it will be Voigt and Ndjeng who will make some unfortunate mistakes. :D

Thanx for the tip. ;) I'll be calling Jos and tell him to replace them by Touma/Marin & Daems! :-)

Btw: What about Thomas Broich scoring an own goal? :p ;)

Here's an interview with him:

:D Jos is another one of our agents. We have infiltrated you guys in all areas.

Damn, you really scare me! ;)

However, I'm very content with the job your agents are doing in MG so far! :)

Let's hope for a good & fair derby (despite the huge rivalry & significance of this game) in a great atmosphere.

PS: Just curious whether Alex Voigt will get booed tonight.

Good and fair derby, with no stupid hoolie stuff, and 3 points for FC Köln ;)

1:1

A point saved as Helmes converts the spot kick, Brouwers sent off after fouling Nova in injury time!

Mainz holds the third promotion slot over Cologne via a six-goal differential.

What did I say? Those cowards from the "Wilde Horde" were pretty close to abandon the game in the last minutes by provoking our "die-hards"...

Thankfully, Rösler & Neuville immediately ran to the guest section.

Yep. But the draw is ok in my eyes, since both teams didn't play well after the interval. And I can live with this result ... despite the nice Novakovic diver into our box and despite the fact that we could have scored the 2:0 in a few counter-attack situations just after the 1:0 and during the last 20 minutes...

I think that both goalies were the best players tonight.

PS: Kudos to the Köln fans for being so fair not to boo Alex Voigt.

You are spot on there. In the end, it was 1:1 on the pitch and in a way also 1:1 in terms of which teams had more morons posing as "fans" in the stadium.
Our stupid "Wilde Horde" should be concerned with supporting the team instead of breaking laws.

Gladbach was better yesterday, I still think we're relying too much on hoofing the ball and keeping our fingers crossed. First half was more entertaining than the second. I'd like to see McKenna instead of Mitreski as full back, Nova and Helmes both up front as strikers, and Scherz or Gambino as right winger.

I was really surprised to see McKenna as central striker (I expected him to play against his Canadian mate Rob Friend) ... and think that it worked to our favour, since you always played those long ball towards him.

About the "Wilde Horde": Those idiots and a many stupid comments on the "FC Brett" managed to make even the moderate Gladbach fans (who wanted Köln to follow us to the 1st league in order to have a 1. BL derby next season) in our forum hating your club now (from what I've noticed). There seems to be a feeling like 2001/2002, when a few morons from Köln fired flares on the pitch & main stand of the old Bökelberg...

Really sad. I personally still don't hate Köln, since I know that the vast majority of FC fans is ok. I'm also very mad on those dumbasses from our ex-Ultras who reacted so stupidly on the provocation! How did they manage to take those flares into the stadium? I've never experienced any flares during a Gladbach match before...
And how did your Ultras get that huge UMG banner to the stands? It seems that the entrance check at Rhein-Energie-Stadion isn't the best...

Well 3:3 in Aue. I feel cheated.

Goals from Helmes, Scherz, and Pezzoni.

Scherz was sent off for a bogus 2nd yellow.

Did you feel cheated after the derby as well? ;)

That yellow/red card for Scherz was a joke, indeed.
