C'mon, don't tell us fairy tales!

But it is true. I mean you as a fan of that eastern dutch club, you have to admit that nearly all of the local fans speak german as if it were their mother tongue.

With the foundation of the Bundesliga the new foundation date of Köln was dated back to 13. Feb 1948.
A merger or renaming a club is still something legal as long as the history stays intact.

Without the merger and renaming we could be called Sülz 07 now.

So I am quite happy we changed our name.

Without Novagol we'd be looking up at a lot of teams.

we really should thank latour for getting him. After all he was one of the reasons he was so harshly critizized.

The first and the seventh team are only 6 points apart. It is getting more and more suspenseful.

Well, that will cost the home club some fans for sure, since Nordkurve & Südkurve don't have a roof. Let's hope the FC fans travelling to the match, won't forget their raincoats & umbrellas...;)

What I admire about Fürth is that even though they have so few ressources
and the big teams pretty much plunder them every transfer period they still manage to play for the promotion ranks every season.

HT and FC Köln is up 1-2 against Fürth. Not a good match by Greuther Fürth so far but I feel the ref. has been helping Köln a bit with some of his decisions. With Borussia 'gladbach leading in their match this one has gotten a bit bigger, IMHO.

2-2 FT! Good fight back by the "German Celts"! As you were in BL. 2.

About 1,200-1,500 Köln fans and around 9,000 Fürth supporters, who were happy that the rain had stopped just 45 minutes before the kick-off, enjoyed an exciting match with 2 different half times! Fürth was better before the interval, but conceded 2 very unlucky early goals (own goal & pk) ... whereas Köln dominated the last 30 minutes of the game (creating and missing 2-3 top chances) and conceded a late goal, nonetheless. Really weird...

To be honest, I rarely saw Fürth play as poorly as they did after the interval ... somehow I got the impression that they were totally knocked over after 60 minutes for some unknown reason (the same had happened to Cologne when they played against Fürth at Rhein-Energie-Stadion in September)! :eek: Köln was the clearly better team after the interval and had not much problems to control the match, but Novakovic & Helmes weren't able to take profit of 2 great opportunities ... so they got punished by their own stupidity and a perfect counter attack in the end!

Well, last season they were very lucky to win in Fürth ... and this time they were very unlucky to drop 2 points. That's football.


Btw: Christoph Daum made a total fool of himself during the whole game (permanent complaining against the referee and linesmen although Markus Schmidt surely didn't disadvantage Köln), so I simply can't understand why he didn't have to leave the coaching zone! Any other manager would have been sent to take place on the main stand...
