Anybody looking forward to the fight tonight?

i think this could be a good one, Hatton has ti impress and i think Castillo is the perfect guy to bring the best out of him.

Both look in great shape at the weigh in.

Great performance by Ricky with one of the most sickening punches ever thrown! Ive never seen a hardened Mexican writhe in pain from a single punch as Castillo was.

Its ok now that Hatton has won but I felt he was being too wreckless in the early rounds getting caught with clean shots. I was genuinely worried that it would take its toll in the mid to late rounds.

Well done Ricky, question is what super fight will he be involved in first??

BTW, did you see Shrek holding one of Hattons belts over his shoulder like he was in the WWE!! :D

I loved how the English fans were singing "Bergkamp Wonderland" but instead Hatton Wonderland. Fans were top notch and what a punch that was amazing.

When's he fighting Mayweather? Castillo was a fight on paper but that was an over the hill fighter last night.

Castillo has never been floored in his pro box career and he had some of the most difficult fights he could of had including two wars against Corrales (RIP) and a narrow loss to Pretty Boy. Just because he is 33 and hasnt been active as much as Hatton has lately doesnt mean he cant stand up to a shot.

All the commentators I was listening to said that body blow would have dropped anybody. I wouldnt be surprised if he broke a rib.

Another fight from last night that wasnt publicised as much saw Bernard Dunne retain his European super-bantamweight title with a points win against Reidar Walstad. It was a great show from Dunne and I cant wait until he gets a world title shot.

Dunne is a hugely talented fighter and is currently 24-0, his first 14 pro fights were in the States where they loved his style.

Regardless, Castillo was empty and isn't the prime fighter he was. Is there talk about a Mayweather fight or what?

There's definitely talk about it, who knows if it will happen.

When i watched the highlights last night i thought that maybe Castillo took a dive. I've never seen someone knocked out by a body punch before, but he did get nailed hard right in the ribs.

Roger Mayweather, Pretty Boys uncle/trainer has already said that if Hatton drives up to Floyds house with a truck full of money then he will come out of retirement and the fight will be on. He reckons it will be the biggest fight ever.....??

Strong rumours are also circulating that Golden Boy promotions will sign up Hatton.

Style wise Miguel Cotto would be the most exciting fight involving Ricky. Two toe-to-toe gladiators with unbeaten records....wow, that would be way more exciting than the tactical battle that a Mayweather fight will bring.

Does the bold in the article sound familiar?

Sudden dethronement of 'Prince' Naseem is a warning to Hatton
James Lawton

In all the hoopla now surrounding the splendidly combative Ricky Hatton there is a point that has to be made, however reluctantly.
It is to do with the English disease of overstatement in discussing the talent of so many native sons. In the case of Hatton it is unfortunately abetted by the boxing rule that wise management is not about seeking a fight of fights - until maybe the last big pay cheque is on the horizon - but one you are pretty sure of winning. If the intended victim is a fighter of reputation but not overwhelming current threat, so much the better.
This, it has be said, is the category into which Hatton's most notable opponents have to be placed, Kostya Tszyu, who was prised out of retirement and resembled only a shell of a once great warrior, and Saturday's opposition, Jose Luis Castillo. This is not to totally dismiss the chances of Hatton in the now proposed "superfight" against men of the quality of Floyd Mayweather and Oscar de la Hoya and Miguel Cotto, but it is to sound what might just be becoming a rather needed note of warning.
The last time a British fighter was built up to the degree of Ricky Hatton he went to America trailing all kinds of glory. His name was Naseem Hamed. Eventually, when the supply of the halt and the lame was over, when his paymaster Home Box Office television insisted that he fight a live opponent, he was sent off to oblivion by Marco Antonio Barrera.
Hatton's promotion has been infinitely less shameless than that of Hamed. Still, yesterday, there had to be a twinge of worry that the end of the road might not be dissimilar.

Fighters get old overnight. Just because he was a tuff guy before, doesn't mean he was the other night.

You know who once knocked someone out with a bodyshot? Roy Jones Jr.;)

De La Hoya got knocked out by Bernard Hopkins via body shot.

There has been countless KOs by bodt shots, they are alot harder to recover from.

Style wise Hatton Cotto is the better fight and the one i wanna see him go for, i think Mayweather will pick him off for 12 rounds tbh, just too good defensively...
