pretty sure i have heard it more than 10 times today. best song of all time, obviously. it has 'rapper's delight' sung in gibberish in the chorus for christ's sake.

Awesome

Every time I hear the song, I get a ridicolous smile I can't get rid of. The gibberish made-up chorus is pure genius.

i don't think it's made up - i think it's a garbled lyric from 'rapper's delight' by the sugarhill gang, the 'i said-a hip hop...' one ('asereje je ja...' or whatever). but maybe i've gone insane.

listening to 'hella nervous' by gravy train right now. it stuck out beautifully on a mixtape i got full of crap guitar rock. so good.

snowsuit, for the longest time I thought the chorus was middle eastern or something, but it isn't. It's just made up. They made it so the chorus would sound like people singing along to a chorus w/o knowing the lyrics. Get the video to the song, you'll see.

hmmm.

missy elliott's 'work it' is what is playing right now. i think it's her new single. it samples 'heart of glass' by blondie, and it's really good. "don't i look like a halle berry poster?"

Is that also known as "The Drive"?

I was in Chicago last weekend and its the only station my sister listens to. They play anything from The Who to James Taylor to old Dylan (Positively 4th Street...woohooo!)

Good stuff.

'Easy' - Kelly Willis

Wow, is this different from the other Kelly Willis album I have - her more mainstream country album from the mid-90s'. But it's great - I'll post a review of it after I've listened through it a few more times.

Her cover of 'Don't Come the Cowboy with Me, Sonny Jim' is going to have me looking for Kirsty MacColl stuff, ASAP.
