The Verve - The Drugs Don't Work
What a great song and a great band. So glad I got to see them in concert several years ago.
Have you heard Ben Harper's version of that tune Peledre?

No, do you have an MP3 of it? I have howie day's version of that song, and I do one myself. It's a pretty easy song to play - C, Am, Em, F, G. Only tough thing is getting the rhythm down.

I don't, but you can listen to a clip on iTunes or on Amazon though. It is on his Live From Mars CD.

The lyrics to that song just hit me every time, so powerful.
All this talk of getting old
It's getting me down my love
Like a cat in a bag, waiting to drown
This time I'm comin' down
And I hope you're thinking of me
As you lay down on your side
Now the drugs don't work
They just make you worse
But I know I'll see your face again
Now the drugs don't work
They just make you worse
But I know I'll see your face again
But I know I'm on a losing streak
'Cause I passed down my old street
And if you wanna show, then just let me know
And I'll sing in your ear again
Now the drugs don't work
They just make you worse
But I know I'll see your face again
'Cause baby, ooh, if heaven calls, I'm coming, too
Just like you said, you leave my life, I'm better off dead
All this talk of getting old
It's getting me down my love
Like a cat in a bag, waiting to drown
This time I'm comin' down
Now the drugs don't work
They just make you worse
But I know I'll see your face again
'Cause baby, ooh, if heaven calls, I'm coming, too
Just like you said, you leave my life, I'm better off dead
But if you wanna show, just let me know
And I'll sing in your ear again
Now the drugs don't work
They just make you worse
But I know I'll see your face again
Yeah, I know I'll see your face again
Yeah, I know I'll see your face again
Yeah, I know I'll see your face again
Yeah, I know I'll see your face again
I'm never going down, I'm never coming down
No more, no more, no more, no more, no more
I'm never coming down, I'm never going down
No more, no more, no more, no more, no more

I'm not sure. Since I only recently got my home computer, I've just started tinkering with etree and archive
I've only downloaded two Robert Randolph shows and a Leftover Salmon show so far.

Do you have any idea when that show is? db.etree.org has a fairly decent collection of BH and the IC on their site.
*Edit, found a show with it, 4/10/03 (http://db.etree.org/shninfo_detail.php?shnid=18051) I'm not at home now so I'll probably have to wait until later this afternoon.

BTW, Nico, if you have time, download a howie day show from 4/28/02. He does a drugs don't work cover (as well as an impression of David Gray covering a Macy Gray song that's hillarious).
You can find it at archive.org
