There is news that the team has gone to FIFA to file a complaint against Juventus for illegally approaching both Meira and Gomez with regard to a transfer to the Cheaters United.

Cool ... since I feared I wouldn't see my Franconian fellow again here. Are you still at www.foros.de? (http://www.foros.de?)
No, not at all, yesterday they threw me out of their page for a ridiciolous reason...
Are you still at foros? What is/was your nickname? Borussia, too?
But I'm a moderator of a VfB Stuttgart Board at http://www.soccer-fans.de/vfb-stuttgart/ ;)

No, I've left foros for some months now...
My nickname was "Pinturicchio" (don't you remember my cool Gladbach/Fürth/Juve/Celtic avatar?) ;)

According to Spanish media, it looks like Ewerthon won't come as Saragossa insisted on the 10 million € while Stuttgart wouldn't pay more than 7.5 million €.
The whole thing might be a tactical maneuver by Saragossa, but I don't believe that the transfer will happen anymore...I can't see Stuttgart paying more than 7.5.
So who's going to be our new striker? The bets are off again...let's hope that Heldt has a plan B up his sleeve.

Wow, of course i remember ;)
We talked a few times in the Fürth forum, nice to see you here again, but why did you left foros?
@benztown:
I believe in Heldt, he made it right not to throw that much money out of the window, only because Saragossa wants 7,5 Millions.
I'm sure, he'll present a great guy!
But we need a scorer, Cacau & Gomez isn't enough!

For some good reasons...
If you stay on this board, we should remain in contact again.

Seems like the Spanish media was a little too fast. In an interview today, Heldt said that the meeting with Saragossa has been delayed, but that they're still in talks. It's not over yet

Rumours are saying, that we are prepared giving Saragossa 7,5 Mios €.
I think that's way too much for Ewerthon, then I would give 2,5 Mios more for Afonso Alves...

Today I read on Spiegel online that Heldt is optimistic concerning Ewerthon. But he also said that he's in negotiations with some other striker where he's also optimistic. So I checked some other sources and the Stuttgarter Zeitung had a confusing article about the mystery striker. They wrote that according to some internal informations they figured out some clues (sounds strange to me, so I don't know whether to believe it or not):
supposedly he's:
a loan deal, no transfer
from the Balkans, though not from the former Yugoslavia but rather Bulgaria or Romania
a regular for his national team
new to the Bundesliga
potentially playing in Italy at the moment
a tall guy, opposed to Ewerthon and Cacau (Streller replacement)
not Valeri Bojinov, Adrian Mutu, Mirko Vucinic, Mateja Kezman, Igli Tare
Nice riddle ain't it? What I don't get: How are they supposed to gather that kind of information? But if that's all true, it's definitely not going to be Kevin Mirallas.
I just love all those speculations during the summer break :D

It looks like, that Tamás Priskin is the mysterious new 4th Striker... (says Stuttgarter Nachrichten)

a friend of mine who lives in australia now but is a massive stuttgart fan as he was originally from there tells me that he thinks manuel fischer has a legitimate shot at first team football at some point this season.
scored 4 goals in a pre-season trial game and is training with the first team at the minute.
any thoughts on this as he keeps telling me he's going to be huge.

I doubt that he'll be playing a lot this season, unless there are some injuries. He's definitely our biggest talent at the moment, but then again, he's only 17 years old.
I think he can count himself lucky if he gets the chance to come on before the 80th minute a couple of times, since he's only striker #5 (at least for now) and technically in our second team (which doesn't mean a lot of course).
Still, there is a lot of hype around him among Stuttgart fans which is probably also due to the fact, that we had lots of talents in our youth teams in the past who really made it. People say that Gomez is better than Kuranyi and that Fischer will be better than Gomez. We'll see how that turns out, but as I said, he's got the talent. If he stays healthy, I'm sure he'll officially be part of our first team next season, though I can hardly see him becoming a regular very soon.
Maybe history repeats itself though. Kuranyi became a regular when Sean Dundee was injured early in the season and Kuranyi used the opportunity to gain the edge over Dundee. Same thing with Gomez and Jon Dahl Tomasson. So maybe Fischer will get his chance. But I can't see this happening before next season (which would still be optimistic).

Again there have been rumors circulating around the Mexican media that Omar Bravo and linked to Stuttgart yet again :o
I hope that is not the case . Bravo is not up too par and too light weight. Pass on the offer. I hope his goal against Ecuador which was all set up by Blanco will not make him the next Stuttgart player
