Keith don't you ever just dream and not be so realistic? :D;)
Not much. :o
Sorry. Somewhere along the line, football got to be serious business to me and I don't even work in in it anymore.
I just don't go for the rah-rah stuff too much anymore. Not even for BVB. Every now and then, I might get fired up about something or pick them to draw or win a match I know they're going to lose.
But I can't get unrealistic anymore. It's just not in me.
What do you think of our new strikers Olle Olle and Idrissou?
Olle Olle: I assume you're talking about Ampomah. Has potential. Too early to tell anything else.
Idrissou: Is where he belongs. The 2. Liga. Don't ask me what I think he could do for you guys if you're promoted because you won't like my response.
Like I just said, he's where he belongs, the 2. Liga.

Well then I have a very serious question for you. If we were to go up and you were our manager (heaven forbid:eek:;)) what players would you look to buy and why?

Depends on the money situation. From what I understand, the situation at SCF isn't that great.
First, I'd do whatever I could to get extensions for Aogo and Schwaab locked up. They need to be doing that anyhow.
Then, I'd look to eastern Europe for defensive and striker help. As you saw, I knew nothing about Olle Olle, so I'd still get more help.
I'd also check the rosters of the three relegated clubs for any good players who might be able to get out of their contracts and want to remain in the 1. Liga. There is no substitute for experience and at the moment most of SCF's players simply aren't good enough to for the 1. Liga.
Don't think there's much more SCF can do than that......

Sounds like a good start. Maybe you wouldn't be that bad of a manager :D.

ok i see i've missed a lot here.
thanks for wishing me to be living abroad in FR there Keith...Hopefully i can take a year in university in 3 years or such - would be a dream.
anyways, we just got raped by Sankt Pauli which is very very embaressing....You can read my thoughts in the 2nd liga thread.
I don't know if we'll get promoted, i like to sing about it...but that's different from truely believing.
The team has spent a lot of money, we'll get some from Pitroipa but not as much as we all hoped i think....So if we're in first liga next year - I don't think we'll be able to see many new players (that make a difference) because we've spent more money on players than i've seen for years - but most of these guys have been pretty useless.
Butscher, i don't know what he's doing - i love the guy but he's REALLY hurting me at the moment...Especially since he was so good at the beginning of the season...
Banovic was clearly our best new player but he needs to score a friggen goal.
Iddrissou we were all excited about, but really he's been useless....and that's the same with lots of these strikers we have...we have like 6 strikers and none of them seem to be capable of scoring more than 5-7 goals in a season.
The defense is weak, Ibertsberger was a big loss.
losing Iashvili, and Pitroipa leaving (in other words he doesn't care to play for us anymore) means there are no guys who can create good chances at the moment...When you have a bunch of guys who don't know how to hit the net anymore...this hurts
our goal keepers are REALLY inconsistent...
Akrout is someone we can all count on to be great some day... and hey i do believe that he should have been awarded a penalty early on in the match...This guy can dribble as good as anyone, but he has no discipline and ALWAYS makes the wrong decision once he gets into the shooting spot...It was like Pitroipa some years ago, always made great plays but was always for nothing in the end...
The team needs to go back to the short passes instead of the boring long balls.
Our financial situation isn't exactly the greatest at the moment.
So if this team got promoted for next season...we would DEFINATELY be favourites for last place and many flashbacks from 04/05 would be the result.
Motivation and excitement of finally being in first liga again would be the thing we'd have to rely on most...
so schooooen kann zweite liga sein

great to see us win and to be able to watch the game!
Jogi Loew was there anyone know why?
also who is this new guy Andreas Glockner?

yes, some will say it was just against Jena and that's true
but i haven't seen the boys fired up like that since the match against Mainz...Maybe that raping in Pauli will do us a lot of good.
and Loew is often at the matches.
He is a proud Freiburger, one of our best players and still is living there...He obviously lives in a very nice area which is literally a 5 minute walk from the Dreisamstadion.
I hope that he takes over the club someday.

Glockner came up from SC Freiburg II
he seems to have a lot of potential from his performance in Pauli and...more-so today of course.
Today was just great because well
Pitroipa is back! without him, this offence is nothing - don't know what we'll do next year without him to be honest.
Günes is back, and hasn't played that well for a loong time
Butscher was back at his old ways, he was rock solid on D today and obviously helped upfront by scoring the second goal.
Idrissou finally did something! :D
was nice to see Bencik back in the starting 11.
Langer was also quite good today.
Der SCF ist wieder daaaaaa

Two english articles from bundesliga.de
"Freiburg tie up deal with Glockner"

"Freiburg is well-known in Tunisia"

I should be watching the Koblenz game in the next day or two and I'm sure I'll have something to say about that.

has it REALLY been that long!!!!
i had lots of friends over for this match...was a great one!
it's nice to see real Freiburger Fussball again....
and hopefully...you're on to something there Uwe.
Maybe this time we'll get the luck...We have to at least win the last three matches which i think is very possible.
i always have been saying i don't want first liga but whenever the chance comes...my greed takes over
I WANT IT!!!!!!! :o

I think it's only possible if BMG secures promotion against Wehen next Wednesday. ;)

ohhhh yeah, i'll be a big Gladbach fan that day...I'm hoping you guys will be fine by then :p
but if not...I think we'll win that because our situation is worse and we're still bitter about that last match in Freiburg :D

it seems Tommy Bechmann is on his way to Freiburg from Bochum...I always wondered about this player from transfermarkt.de
I always thought he'd be a great signing but it appears he's scored A LOT less than i initially thought...I wonder how he'll do with us.
the team also seems to be interested in other fowards named
Mattias Morys (VfB Stuttgart II)
Zlatko Junuzovic (SK Kärnten, Austria)
