Unfortunately I didn't manage to watch the game. I just wonder why the "Kicker" report doesn't mention the alleged handball scene (it's talking about "ein gerechtes Remis")...

I feel sorry for you to lose 2 important points so late. It seems that even the new goalie didn't bring you back the fortune...

yeah even in the scfreiburg.tv highlights they didn't know the Handspiel either.
i guess due to my fan arrogance, i feel that justice abandoned all of us today...
Here is what Robin Dutt has to say
I don't know if you can blame Langer for this goal...That second the whole team lost focus as the corner came in...the ball somehow ended up infront of the goal, there was a big scramble and an ugly tap in.
As the corner was kicked, i don't know i just felt like something bad was going to happen...and my worst nightmare became reality within 5 seconds.
Only 3 points this friday against Lautern...Obviously they're not playing like they used to and we've beaten them in the last 3 matches...In fact apparently we're one of the few teams that has a positive record in Lautern.
AUS! AUS! AUSWAERTSSIEG!!!!!
would do anything to travel to that match...

I had just switched on my tv short time before that corner kick, so I managed to see the Mainz equalizer at least. Simply couldn't believe your guys didn't manage to get the ball out of the 5 meter box in that scene...
Conceding a last-minute goal, is always disappointing! Do you remember that last-minute shocker against Paderborn last season, which costed you the promotion in the end?

how can i forget!
that was the match where i had a lot of my friends over, skipped school to drink and watch SCF over the bwin.com screen (imagine about 13 people huddled over a computer watching that)...
I expected a 3:0 win or something....ok 0:0 - at least we get the vital point... and then that horrible, HORRIBLE goal ruined my whole day.
we walked back to school for some reason, i was in a bit of an incredibly stupid drunken range and started kicking trees and plants...people looked at me like i just ate their children :o
and yes i still can't believe...that it was not cleared really, it just needed a boot! and we would have won...for those few seconds the guys lost focus...one of the only times in the match. just thinking about it is making me angry

currently keeping track of the game thru live ticker. The ref's name seems to be Peter Sippel and the FCK keeper is Tobias Sippel. Coincidence?

Congrats Freiburg, now you're back in the race for third place I guess.

Good performance, you worked hard for the 3 points
and it could have even been a win with a larger margin.
Congrats to SCF

watch the German sense of humour :D
and thanks everyone - I don't want to get too ahead of myself like always...So i'll really be happy even if we don't get promoted, but a strong finish will be all i need...But the greed of man always wants more right?
here are our last matches and they are by no means a walk in the park...
playing in Aue and Pauli while they fight for their surival could turn out ugly.

Went to my first SC Freiburg game last night against Aachen. It was a pretty nice experience: cheap seats, good atmosphere and of course, a Freiburg win. Jäger tapped it in after the Aachen keeper bobbled the ball on a free kick. Other than that, there wasn't much in the way of high-powered offense. Nice little stadium though.

It pains me to say but I haven't been on top of things as well as I would've liked.
I mean, I know our league position, who our best players are, etc, but I can't really tell where this team is going.
If we get promoted, how do you guys see our chances of staying in the Bundesliga? I know Pitroipa is leaving for HSV, but how are our finances looking? Do you think we'll have the money to go after any players, or will we be immediate favorites for the 18th spot?

I'd say you're immediate favorites to drop right back to the 2. Liga. But one never knows. No one thought Cottbus would survive last season either and not many thought Karlsruhe would survive this season, much less remain in the top ten most of the season.

If we go up and we can get a reliable goal scorer I can see us surviving.

Spoken like an optimistic fan.
Realistically, you guys will need a lot more than just a reliable goal-scorer to stay in the 1. Liga.
You will surely need upgrades in central defense and in midfield. There's a reason you guys are in fifth place right now.

Keith don't you ever just dream and not be so realistic? :D;)
What do you think of our new strikers Olle Olle and Idrissou?
