home shirt for next season...no idea what the away or alternate ones are looking like yet.

Soumalia Coulibaly leaves Freiburgto Gladbach
for a transfer fee of 450.000 €.
The 29th years old played for Freiburg since 2000.

He is the 8th player, that leaves Freiburg.
7 new players have been signed so far.

Goalkeeper Pascal Borel is currently
at the Freiburg training camp in Voralberg for a trial.
Borel, who played for Bremen and Ahlen is currently without club.
Another candidate is oldie Dirk Heinen, whose contract
at VfB Stuttgart ended this summer.

SC coach Dutt said, he tests some goalkeepers and then decides
if a substitute for the injured Walke will be signed or not.
He said, that it´s also possible, that Freiburg starts with Nulle
and Solic into the season, but admit, that this would be risky if
one of them would also get injured.
Another option is U19 goalkeeper Michael Müller, who trains with
the team at the training camp, too.

The transfer of Soumaila Coulibaly from SC Freiburg to Borussia is for all intents and purposes a done deal. The 29 year-old midfielder was given a physical exam today in Mönchengladbach

he should have left Freiburg after last season i think...He seems to have gotten worse every year for the last 3 years or so with us...Maybe a new team will put him back to his old ways.

But a good coulibaly playing for a different team (that we'll be playing against) is something i don't wish for, sorry uwe :p

yeah thats what I was thinking, its almost good to see him go. You think Mohamad will get the captains armband?

that depends on how much he wants to play for us i think.

Iashi, Antar, and mohamad (both antar and dodo are lebanese and like brothers) there was some tension between some SCF supporters and our 2 lebanese players around the whole finke incident...I'm surprized that dodo did not go with Antar to Koeln to be honest, from a lebanese football forum - obviously they love to say their biggest heroes play on the same team...But most people seemed to agreed he should stay in Freiburg, there has been some rumours about a move...But that has really died over the last month or two...If dodo plays like he did last year, with that same fight and determination....Then he is my pick to wear the captains armband.

our first DFB cup match is against them as you know...it will be a südbaden schwarzwald derby.

They finished 4th this year in the oberliga (4th division) Baden-Württemberg.

heres a site of their supporters, i think (hope) they can get a decent number of fans out for this game.

edit: they seem to get some ok numbers out! this should be very cool!
i can't remember if the game is in Freiburg though??? anyways i just hope the SC fans can take this game seriously...

Really? ;)

We'll see...

I think we signed him in order to lead our unexperienced youngsters Marin & Baumjohann in the midfield. I'm not sure he'll get a "Stammplatz" though...

sounds like the stadion in Villingen will be rocking...perhaps like it has never rocked before!

i'm not sure of the exact capacity but i'm thinking it will be packed way past that, wondering how many Freiburg fans will be allowed to get tickets.

Hügelsheim
Hooligan-Auseinandersetzung verhindert
