Liverpool are not the first team to want this kid. I hope West Ham reject any offer and keep him. The midfield needs attention and it's not good for west ham to loose him.
No player is bigger than the club, if he wants to leave and people don't want him in the mangers office than you can transfer. The team will go on and we still have great players like Deano, Green, Tevez(hoping). I love west ham much more than any player but I must admit, loosing Yossi would hurt the team. Curbs should make things right between them two and Yossi would beg to stay if that happened.

He'd be a complete jackass to want to go sit on the bench at Liverpool instead of be part of what West Ham is building. But in the end, I suppose that's his choice to make.

If Yossi wants to go then there will be little West Ham can do about it. Like you say it's better he goes if he wants out. If we make him stay then he won't give 100% on the pitch.
West Ham have withdrawn the recent contract renewal offer and this to me shows Yossi's intent. I think he wants out. Maybe he's been mesmerised by the glitz and glamour of CL football. Perhaps he saw what it did for Masher's career and thinks he deserves the same, before he gets too old.
Even if the move to Liverpool falls through he will have to come back with his tail between his legs and be happy staying on his current contract, instead of the new one he was offered. Not an ideal situation for him or us.

I'm a Tottenham fan but have a soft spot for WHU. That said, I don't want to see Benayoun leave. He's great to watch and as said, he'd rot on the bench in Liverpool. I think WHU has the young talent to be in the top 8 or so in the EPL. With a big signing or retainment of Tevez, top 5 or so is possible.

Any chance of getting Defoe back if and when Bent signs? :)

haha probably. We know WHU has the money to burn (prob around 10 mill pounds for Defoe) so it would work as long as if Defoe and WHU can reconcile.

Defoe's always been complimentary towards West Ham during his time away. I don't think he'd have a problem returning, if it came to that.

Not too bothered about this one to be honest. I liked the way he played for about ten mins of each match, the rest of the time he was just running around all over the place doing a whole lot of nothing. The exception to that was obviously the Fulham game but one (almost) match winning performance a season is really not that good.
I think the problem with us WH fans is we love our flair players too much and even when they are not doing that well we defend or support them in anticipation of the next match.
Hopefully this Frog fills the gap left by YB and I'm inclined to believe he is going to be a much superior right winger, as that was always going to be YB's position with us. I bet anyone that he will get more than the 3 assists YB came up with last year and probably more than the 3 goals he scored.
That whole International thing left a bad taste in my mouth anyway, I hope he enjoys the Liverpool bench. We are better off without him.
UP THE HAMMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!

4 million is all West Ham gets out of it?
Less than half what Reo-Coker brought?
A little less than half Bellamy's price tag?
Liverpool's got lots of cash. They're obviously hot for him. Why let 'em off so easy?

I really disagree with NOH's criticism of Yossi B; he gave 100% in every game I saw him in, and that was a lot! He was actually almost too good for some of the others on the team, but when Tevez finally came good, his work with Benayoun was exciting. West Ham will definitely be poorer as a team without him, and I'm very sorry to see him go. I think we still need at least 2 more superior players for the squad; other teams seem to be much stronger with their acquisitions compared to us.
I wonder if we can really compete with the top half of the Premiership as it stands now.

Will play bit parts of games, can't see him fitting into that already congested midfield, he will be another Garcia IMO.
Has a bit of flair, a tad weak, provides the odd great game, but overall isint anything special.
Yea 4mils a tad cheap in West Hams view, but he wanted out, Liver wanted him so the deals done, couldnt see it going beyond 5/5.5 IMO, despite the ridiculous prices these days.

£5mil is what we're getting for Yossi according to this Israeli news source.

It's a shame to see him go as I think he added something to the squad. But I think Faubert will replace him adequately. And I think that comparison to Garcia is nailed on. In a year or two he'll be a squad player and quietly move to another team without any particular fanfare. Just like Garcia.
Plus... he doesn't want to be here so **** off. That's my attitude to all of these modern day mercenaries. I hope you rot on the bench. :p

What's sad is he really had the Hammer supporters fooled by saying all the right things about how happy he was to be at West Ham, how honored he is to have been accepted by the fans, blah, blah ...
In the end, he showed he just had stars in his eyes.

It'd be laughable if it weren't so disheartening.

I wish him well. Sorry to see him go but CL football must be a players aim. Wish it was with us though.
