I kinda agree with nery on this one. It took him so dam long for him to finally play with us and now hugo doesnt even put him on the bench. Wdf is hugo thinking

que se vaya a la chlngada, no lo necesitamos.. (i mean we do, but we don't want primaddonas who cry because they don't get play time...so screw him if he did say that)
es el amor por La VERDE that guys like ramoncito, and others who are not going to play, are there for the support. we have great players in, and even out of the bench, I don't hear them crying.

what if we actually post the real reason--
from the man himself (hugo, not Nery)
"Fue por las características del rival. Hay partidos que se prestan para las cualidades de algunos de los jugadores y eso es lo que tiene uno que valorar y estudiar. Yo creo que los jugadores que estuvieron lo hicieron bastante bien, se crearon ocasiones. Cuando vengan otros partidos indudablemente tenemos de donde escoger: gente rápida, gente alta, gente rematadora, gente que hace buenas diagonales; podemos estar variando dependiendo el rival y las condiciones de los partidos".
That is some BS. Hugo talks about not changing his formation from game to game because none of the big teams change their formations, rather they make others adjust to the way they are playing. So then why not put your best 11 out there for every game and make the other team adjust to the people you put out rather than the other way around. Who is Concacafs giant, Mexico or Guadaloupe?
If Nery cant play against Guadaloupe, then I guess he wont be able to play against the US, or Brazil, or Chile, or Ecuador or Germany or England or any other team we might have to play in meaningful tournament games. Why call him up ever again if he's too small.
Its BS on Hugo's part because Mexico isnt a team of huge guys and he should put out the people that deserve to play or give us the real reason why he keeps them out.

Dude no matter what Hugo did Nery should keep his mouth shut.
Nery wake up...Mexico won..your team won...be happy...your team just made it to the final.
Was Nery Mexico's best foward this Gold Cup?? No...
He's not untouchable, no matter how stupid the reason was he should be happy that his team won.

I know but it seems kinda dumb to not play him, I mean hugo had to endure so much criticism from the mexican media because he kept calling nery and nery kept standing him up and when he finally gets nery the guy who he keeps saying is mexicos only consistent goalscorer, he doesnt even put him im. why did he call him up for then>??
Oh well I personally like Nery and want him to do good and ill just give hugo the benefit of the doubt and hope he was resting nery for the u.s.a game :D

if he would have benched nery and not said anything, there wouldnt have been anything said. but his reason was complete bs and if i were nery, I'd be pissed too.

He wasn't? Who was? Certainly Not Bravo, Borgetti had a nice goal, but you can never say he plays that great. If I remember Nery had 2 good games early on which I can't recall any of our other forwards having and also scored a gol.
And he has every right to speak up and talk to the media, especially if the coach comes up with an idiotic reason for him not playing. I mean, they're asking him non-stop " why didn't you play?" all the media wants to know, as well as many Mexico fans, including many here and he simply answered the question and said what Hugo told him. Do you expect him to come up with a lie or something?

I wondered where Nery was tonight.
I honestly think this is a big PR thing.

Lets hope because if he leaves just because Hugo didn't play him I think that would be a big blow towards him. How are you going to beg and talk about how great a player is and then put him in the stands in the first couple of games that you have him? That is completely stupid any way you look at it, and If I was Nery I would've said the same things.

Nery can go to hell.Mexico doesnt need him.All he did was score a goal, which any player in the world could have scored.
He must shut up and do what his coach tell him,or go home.

Yeah the goal may have been simple, but early on he was what seemed the only one who cared to be playing (whether or not it was because he had something to prove is a different question). Truth is we do need him ,lets face it Mexico isn't the fastest team in the world, and he brings speed and he creates plays too. It's sad that he wasn't even on the bench today, and it is a stupid reason. Last I checked lio messi wasn't a big guy, javier saviola wasn't a big guy, giovanni dos santos isn't a big guy, case in point, i'd rather have a small guy with legs (and i dont think he'd get pushed around) then some1 like borgetti who lets face it, stands around waiting for something to head because he has no left foot and he has no right foot.

He's busted his ass for Mexico whenever he's actually been played. He knows he's better than all the other forwards on the team, so what's the problem? He's done nothing to earn the bench like Bravo or Kikin.
If Hugo wants to play one forward, fine let Borgetti start, BUT Borgetti has no business going a full 90 minutes. Castillo should have been on the bench yesterday, and should have relieved Borgetti around the 75th minute to take advantage of a tired Guadeloupe. That would have put the game away.

It would really suck if Nerry, Rafa, Osorio, and Pardo don't play in Copa America..

If the coach tells you you're not going to play, there are two things you can do about it.
Nothing.
And like it.
It's not a democracy.

ha ha ha.... That's what happens when you have a player who could care less for the NT. All he cares is about himself...
