1860 opens their training this weekend (not much of a break!!!). So I assume Nik L has already flown out.
The Hannover 96 thread here on BS reports rumoured interest in signing Atiba Hutchinson.

Ryan Gyaki interview at the Hansa Rostock site: (translation to follow):
Ryan Gyaki Interview (http://www.fc-hansa.de/cp/index.php?id=154&oid=4101)
On July 1st, Hansa Rostock begin their football season, but the two players who have to travel the farthest are already there. Brazilian Diego Morais arrived Saturday afternoon and on Monday Ryan Gyaki arrived on the North Sea after a 13 hour flight from Calgary. Hansa Online spoke with the Canadian Olympic team player during the drive from Hamburg to Rostock.
Hansa Online: Ryan, what are your expectations in Rostock?
RG: I want to learn as much as I can and play in the Bundesliga.
Hansa Online: What do you know of other Canadians in the Bundesliga?
RG: Obviously Paul Stalteri who played with Bremen and Owen Hargreaves who just left Bayern. Also I know Kevin McKenna who just joined FC Koeln. My best buddy Nik Ledgerwood is with 1860 Muenchen. I want to represent Canada well in Germany and give Hansa Rostock everything I have.
Hansa Online: You've played 17 youth international games with 4 goals; do you think you will be playing in the Olympics?
RG: I would like that but all that matters right now is my main goal right now is Hansa. I want to show I have what it takes. Bundesliga games are more important than the Olympic qualifying.
Hansa Online: You spent 3 days training here in the spring. What impressions do you have?
RG: It was a great time. Coach Franc Pagelsdorf was very nice and loose. Rene Rydlewicz and his wife took me in with their family. I felt accepted in just a few hours. I felt that Hansa was the only team for me in Germany and now that I am part of the team, I am hungry for success.
HO: You were under contact with the oldest club in the world in Sheffield, but only played a few games. What was the reason?
Ryan Gyaki: Yes I was with the Sheffield United for five years, when they were in the 2nd highest division in English fooball and the top flight, and they are back into the 2nd division. The first three years were terrific for me in the junior ranks. In my fourth year, my first as a professional, I had a torn cruciate ligmant, which cost me to a lot of time. That next year, in the Premier League, they had such a struggle to stay up that I had no chance to play on the first team.
HO: On 1 July is the first training day. What will you be doing before then?
RG: For the time being, I will live at the academy, find a place to live, a car, a phone and then train, train and and train again. I want to get settled in quickly.

Transfermarkt.de is reporting that Daniel Imhof has been released by VfL Bochum but I cannot find any other source to back this up.
He is not listed in the team list on Bochum's website so it seems to be true. Not much of a surprise as he isn't really a 1st BL calibre player and was out of contract. Seemed to be pretty solid in the 2nd BL so hopefully he can catch on there. With McKenna's self-relegation act it seems as if there will be no Canadians in the 1st BL next year unless one of the Hutchinson transfer rumours comes true or Gyaki makes Hansa's first team. A significant number of Canadians in the 2nd BL though.

Training opens in Kaiserslautern today before the move to camp in Switzerland.
Simpson is rehabbing and will join the team in a week.
Bernier is still being given time off after the Gold Cup and for getting married. My guess he joins the team in a week as well.

Schedules are out for Bundesliga 1 and 2.
Cdn derby to end the Bund 2 season with FC Koeln away to FCK. Hopefully they will both be assured promotion by that day (along with 1860 of course). :)

Kevin McKenna sees his first action of the summer as plays in the first half as FC Koeln put up a 6-0 lead over an amateur team (actually a combo of two amateur teams). The 2nd half saw the Koeln coach put in amateurs and youth players for another 3 goals.

Josh joined the team into their trainings camp in Austria. But it will take probably another week to work together with the rest of the squad.
They will face Wilhelmshaven in the first round of Germans Cup, where Riley O`Neill is playing.
The first game against Mönchengladbach will bring another canadian derby, where Rob Friend yesterday signed a 3 year contract

Reported in Friday's Calgary Herald that 17 year old Callie player, Cody Cook, is off to play with the U19's of Energie Cottbus, following in the footsteps of Kevin McKenna, Lars Hirschfeld and Tam Nsaliwa. Another Niendorf influence. The U19's play in the Junioren Bundesliga (I believe again this season) and if he could catch the eye of the amateur coach, he could see action in the 3rd tier, Regional League North, as Cottbus amateurs promoted from the Oberliga Nord/NordOst last season.
Achtung! - Cook heads to Cottbus (http://www.canada.com/calgaryherald/news/sports/story.html?id=a3672f9f-ea6e-4725-bc01-3353bd1db14a)

Nik Ledgerwood plays the first 45 minutes and scores the lone goal of the half as 1860 Muenchen beat Landesliga side Etzenricht 4:0 today. Split squad as 10 players came out at the end of the first.
Nik also started on Saturday and scored 23 minutes into the game to make it 3:0. He came out after the goal with a foot injury as his side beat up on TSV Hergensweiler 17-0. Seems he recovered all right.
He has started and scored in all 3 friendlies to date.
Also, complimentary article on Nik today by Marc Beyer in the Muenchner Merkur (local newspaper) on Nik's attempt to get back into the squad.
It talks about Nik's determination to be on the field with the senior squad this season and how he doesn't fit into the usual categories of returning vets and newcomers and how his versatility could see him on the field. The coach Marco Kurtz notes that the back season with Wacker Burghausen did Nik a world of good and that he has more self-confidence now. Also mentions that Nik not getting called up to the Gold Cup team (where I think he could have played an important role) was a blessing as he recuperated and worked on his golf game and has come into camp ready to fight for a starting role.

Exhibition this Saturday has FC Kaiserslautern (Bernier & Simpson) taking on FC Kopenhavn (Hutchinson) at the stadium in Graz (was called Arnold Schwarzenegger stadium but I think they renamed it a while ago). Don't know if the two Canucks with K-town will be there yet.

From the Rheinische Post, Rob Friend came over from SC Heerenveen for 1.2 Million Euros. BM coach Jos Luhukay said he wanted a big strong man, good in the air, with lots of presence and he expects about 15 goals from the new striker. He also says he is more of a worker than a technically gifted player. Friend says he has learned to use his size in the box and that is his game.
Sporting director Christian Ziege says that Rob is the striker they were looking for with Wesley Sonck off to Spain.
Looking forward to Rob getting on the end of crosses from Oliver Neuville in Germany this season.

The official homepage of the FCK confirmed that Josh and Patrice will face Attouba on Saturday, 17.30H local time at Graz.
I don´t b elieve that they will meet face to face, as Josh still working with the fitness coach after his knee injury and Patrice is on holiday and will be expected back next week.
At the second game day our two Canucks will visit Nik Ledgerwood at 1860. 2. Bundesliga will be very interesting for you guys in oversea as we now have 5 compatriots playing there. I´m sure one or hopefully more will promote...

Simpson will not play, he is still nursing his knee. I think Bernier is in camp now, but no confirmation.

Neither our local press confirmed that Patrice arrived at the traininigscamp. So I think, that he will join the team next week, when they return from Austria. This might be mid of the week.
Keep you updated whenever I have some new information

Shouldn't he be in Kaiserslautern?
