So, I get home, and rush to soccernet to check the Guad-Mex score.
Apparently, both that game, and the US game, were/are played at something called "Stadion Köln."
What. The. Hell???
:D

happy fun stuff on bigbrian.
also... i have a newfound hate for yankees fans again. they just were here (and got swept), and it was STUPID. work was just insane. the place was full of yankees jerseys and hats. in fact, one night, we counted more RED SOX fans in the house than rockies (and the phillies had more merch represented as well). anyways, it was pretty annoying as only about 10% of these people were from new york. most of my coworkers and i estimated that MAYBE 25% of them had even ever BEEN to NYC...
anyways... beyond that... parking went to shit for the games, which were all sold out. usually, on a weekEND night, you can park in a surface lot for $10 or so. for this series, during the week, mind you, those same lots were charging $40. that and traffic just went straight to hell. man was i annoyed.
but i saw some really great funny stuff. like a yankees fan walking up to and punching a redsox fan, unprovoked. another scuffle today between a yankees fan and a rockies fan.
that and ive made a shit ton of money working my ass off for these games.
good times.

Congrats Troop!
--I was stunned at how much direction other players gave Gooch about his positioning. Mastroeini bitched at him good a couple of times.
Gooch is becoming a carbon copy of '98 cycle-era Lalas out there - clumsy, slow, and prone to huge errors due to both lack of skill and mental mistakes. He's young and has time to improve before 2010, but I don't think a USMNT star has fallen this fast in quite some time.

Wow....when I don't run, I really feel like I accomplish nothing in a night. So far tonight I've put away laundry, cleaned up my bathroom and watched a lot of soccer. Still I feel like I've gotten nothing done.
Oh well, I think I'll eat a pizza and watch "Goal! The Dream Begins" now.
How sad is that?

I would have said a 2002 Agoos....but same concept.

I forgot about the game, was watching the Office marathon. I'm an awful person.
I was at a graduation. Two of my friends had brothers graduating and several (former) coworkers as well. It was nice until someone decided they had to do the ABCs of life after high school or some-such, which was when we all wondered when it was going to end.

When they got to Z?
:D Z was for zest.
We got confused and felt cheated when we were told X was for the unknown.
To which my friend said that X should be for the x-rays you'll get if you don't go to college, which made perfect sense in that makes-no-sense-at-all way.
