I know it's just me, but I really, really hate to see a beautiful stadium ruined by a track.

Auriaprottu, the reason for the track is because the stadium also hosts Athletics. Most of South African 2010 stadium are multi purpose or they are in a sporting complex. The situation in Kore/Japan opened our eyes and if you read into details about these stadiums you will find out that they are not only done for sports but to accomodate other events like Music Concerts and so forth.

Aren't YOU already somewhat aware of how many YOU think will be built? There should be no reason for YOU to include YOURSELF in that question.

Yeah, I'd say so, given your post.

Oh, I completely understand why they're built that way. I was just saying that I prefer to see football-specific stadia, that's all.

5 Stadiums will be built from scratch and in Durban and Johannesburg 2 brand new railway station are being built. The Johannesburg one is around Ellis Park Stdium, they are gonna stop the operation of 2 station that are currently located next to the stadium and build a new more efficient one.
The followign picture shows the railway station closer to the stadium but the brand new one at the sports comple in under construction.

The new high speed rail, www.gautrain.co.za, will not pass close to any stadium but they are gonna use the feeder buses to take people to the stadiums.
