Of the 16 teams that made it to Phase 2 in 2002/03 four have failed to qualify this time round; Barcelona, Roma, Valencia and Bayer Leverkusen.
Now that the Beckham deal is out of the way, there are plenty of interesting transfer possibilities to speculate about. Pires won't be moving to Valencia, but, what about Canizares the other way and will Wiltord be the bait again?
What about Lucio at BL, De Boar, Kluivert and Saviola at Barca, Totti at Roma or Carew? We're also looking at Mexes after Auxerre miss qualification, anyone else there?
