Makes sense. De Guzman has been far and away the best player in this tournament. He owns the middle of the park. In '06 WCQ we were absolutely wretched in Midfield, no flow, no passing, nothing. I am incredibly optimistic about the upcoming World Cup qualifying and that is amazing because until this tournament started I had no confidence in the National Team. I always want them to succeed, but they've always found a way to lose. Granted the wheels fell off during the last qualifying cycle after that Mexican referee (Benito Archundia, I'll never forget that name as long as I live. Even saying it makes me angry) stole that game vs. Honduras from us. Calling a phantom penalty when the Honduran player tripped over his own feet and then calling back that Occean goal on 'dangerous play' because he raised his foot to control the ball even though no Honduran players were near him. Ooooohhhh, it still makes my blood boil.

I expected better from a Mexican referee. If the referee was Guatemalan, Panamanian, Salvadoran I could've accepted it a little more because diving and incompetent officiating is par for the course, but a Mexican referee like Archundia will be well versed after officiating one of the best non-European leagues in the world.
