I agree
They are not expected to win but if they can make it an interesting game then they have done well.

Lets see if they can do something but like I said this squad should have been at the Gold Cup and if you took the winning squad from the Gold Cup to Copa then it would be interesting.

What was the priority the squad going to the Copa could have won the whole thing with ease...It just shows that the USSF has their priorities messed up..

Copa is going to test some of the younger skilled players we have. Since The USA was invited clubs do not have to release their players. Most of our younger players from Europe are on the verge of starting so instead of playing in Copa they have decided to report to camp so they can fight for starting spots. Other players like LD have all ready missed time due to Gold Cup (plus the Galaxy really need him).
I agree in the fact that I would have rather seen an A team in at Copa America but we couldnt.
Its not USSF fault

I was pretty pissed at first that the US wasn't bringing their A squad to Copa America, but it's a lot of games in a short amount of time. Now I'm looking at it as an opportunity for young players to get some experience and shine. It's a step in the right direction that the US is even competing in Copa America. One place the USSF can really improve is scheduling tougher opposition. I'm tired of meaningless friendlies against weak teams.
One bright spot about winning the Gold Cup is that the US will be participating in the Confederations Cup (or whatever its called) in 2009. That will be good warmup for 2010WC.

Yawn the clubs would have let em play at the Copa if they took a weak squad to the Gold CUp end of story the USSF has weak priorities.

:(
it's just not fair. argentina brought their A++++++ squad to face our kids.
it seems like they're the only true #1 squad in the tournament. is that shame on them for dominating or shame on the us, mexico, and brazil for not bringing their stars?

We played well in the 1st half. Not a bad game. Argentina has a good squad.

Meat cleaver out his trousers...Jesus I worried for the safety of my boots rather than myself for a split second!!
same thing happened to us a couple of years ago when i had a match in slough, geeza pulled out a shank after the match was abandoned due to extreme levels of violence. went in the changing room and this breh tryed crowd surfing over to the instigator with a blade.
kids stuff really, there are some old prats out there, that is for sure.

Definitely. I mean, I love football, but is it really worth getting put in prison for shanking someone over a football match? Don't think so...

haha there is some scum about! stealin a trophy and that, i admit i was no angel when i was younger, i didnt even get to finish school, but some people take things a bit too far.
too many plastic gangstas about if you ask me, they stick on a dizzee rascal cd or wiley buy themselves a tracksuit and a bucket cap and think they some bad man. id slap every single one of them mugs in the chops if i could get away with it, but the law wont allow it.
the old bill dont exactly make things better either. they just seem to make things worse imo.

firing bradley to hire nowak doesn't make sense to me. the only place bradley hasn't seemed to have some success at has been the NY metrostars/red bulls organization, but who really has(not counting my chickens before the eggs hatch on this season- plenty of time to fall apart). He took god-awful chivas and turned them around, no?
he made it clear the Gold Cup was the number 1 priority. Sure, he could have played younger guys in that tournament and brought our "A" team to the Copa America.. but firstly, can we really let Mexico take back that trophy from us? Secondly, which do you honestly think we had a better chance of winning?
Bradley's argument of getting the younger players international experience in more hostile environments really doesn't hold up for me, as how many of those guys will actually be moving in to make an impact on the squad for world cup qualifying... 3 or 4? Barring major injuries, or some of them coming into ridiculous form by then, the squad played in the gold cup will most likely be what we'll see for the qualifying. It just wasn't worth it to burn out our best players who just either ended long campaigns or are beginning theirs in the MLS.

Can someone explain to me why the colour-template on here has changed?
Devil500

HE easily could have walked away with a point but he takes out Olsen who was really key in breaking up Argentina one minute after the change you see a goal...Bradley sucks at managing games he can make a team good but he'll never really be a winner plus there's one man who was part of his success in Chicago-Nowak he's f*cked up in NY and he'll do it with the nats.
