Did they walk for miles? I've seen it and I don't remember that part. I thought the kids just slipped away into a really nearby village to see the games.

Cute film though.

Maybe so. What was disappointing is that they didn't have it anymore at the Blockbuster I went to.

They did have Fever Pitch but it was checked out. Next time. We ended up watching Shrek, Amelie and The Kid instead.

Has anyone seen Fever Pitch? It's a great movie about a middle school teacher/coach in England who is obsessed with Arsenal. There are some hilarious scenes with him and his buddy watching games.
Great movie.

I recommend Mean Machine with Vinny Jones. There are some funny parts and a lot of hard fouls, what else would you expect from something with Vinny Jones in it.

I hope this was a mistake on the part of the Variety writer and that Messrs. Anspaugh and Pizzo know that they were sons of immigrants.

This will have something neither RUDY nor HOOSIERS had: Evil Foreigners and an Exotic Setting. It shares some of that with VICTORY --
the Germans played dirty in the Big Match (well, extremely physical, and the ref was in the German pocket as well).

If they do it right, it's gonna be BIG. Sly's a bit on in years to play the goalie. I really hope Meola at least gets to test for it!

Actually, a number of our players come off well on camera and in interviews: Tab, Harksey, Lalas, among others. Donovan is very stiff, but improving;
Clint's great, until he opens his mouth. That's the problem, he doesn't. He can sound as garbled as Cienfuegos. Needs work.

Mean machine was great. I particularly liked the guys who were the announcers for the match. They called each other Bob. And the keeper, I forget his name in the movie, makes some great Matrix-esque saves.

Does anyone know when "A Shot at Glory" will be available on DVD/VHS in the US?? If you haven't heard of it, it stars Robert Duvall as a Scottish club manager with Ally McCloist as his star player.

If you're renting movies, rent "Lean on Me" about Joe Clark the principal of Patterson HS in New Jersey.

Try to find Claudio Reyna. He was an extra in the movie.
