I think Bodmer is great, but I wonder where he'll fit best on the field. He can play everywhere, but too many options is almost as bad as having none!

With his versatility, you have to wonder why Bodmer hasn't been called up yet.
Oh wait, he's a Scorpio.
Though now that he is at Lyon, which is "good" in Domenech's book, perhaps we will see him, if he can avoid being mentioned with Estelle.
More on topic, I think Bodmer is a brilliant signing. He's got Champions League experience as well.

Domenech is a retard.I doubt that he would still be sélectionneur of the EDF if we didn't reach the final.Enjoy Bodmer.

Bodmer is a dream machine. Every ball he touches (10 a match at max.) makes stars in our eyes.

I would prefer Bodmer to Paillot as fourth center back.

I don't think Sandy is that bad, though as aforementioned, Bodmer can play anywhere!

I know. It's just that he's too inexperienced to be relied upon in big games.

Bodmer says that he fully appreciates the competition Lyon squad is presenting and pledges himself to fight for his place.

Mathieu Bodmer will be undergoing surgery later this week due to niggling muscle problems in his abdomen that won't go away. He's already been out for over a month, and now the staff feel that surgery is the best option.
He will be out for at least another two to three months after the surgery.

they say 2 1/2 months, but that's probably to next practice, figure another 2 weeks to game fitness minimum. it's possible that françois clerc will be back before him, he should be ready to play before the end of february.
réveillère's out until the end of the season.

«J'ai parlé avec Claude Puel avant les vacances. J'évoluerai à un poste bien défini pendant toute la saison et ce sera plutôt en charnière centrale»

Well it looks like Bodmer will be permanently converted to a centerback. I'm not happy about this at all. Center of defense is not nearly his best position in my opinion. I was hoping he would turn into a creative box to box player that could also help cover the back line. Also this seemingly gives Puel an excuse to not go out and get a quality replacement for Cris.

since they've known each other for years i wouldn't think puel's playing mind games with him, but saying he's going to be at a fixed post all year and then saying it's center back would be a way of testing bodmer's attitude, since he won't like that one little bit.
having him as a fourth option is normal, especially with the only real sub being john "rock crystal" mensah. but he's also the best option behind toule and J2M, especially with kongo kim being turned into a LB. so saying he'll play in the charnière i believe, but saying he'll only play there doesn't ring true unless they've got recruitment on track there (PV?)

If he doesnt want to be a centerback then he could always leave because teams like PSG want him but he seems loyal to Lyon and doesnt mind the change then so be it.

I prefer John 'rock candy' Mensah myself.

I prefer John 'rock candy' Mensah myself.yes, but that implies a certain sweetness, and though fragile, mensah is no candyass. he makes mozer look like mother teresa.
