Facts - 5 out 6 in the last 2.5 years.
usa 2 - mexico 0
and lastly.. what countries FA has gone on record to say Mexico has a better national team than does the United States of America?
Your greatest feat in the last decade was that Tie with Italy in the WC. Which you should have won, but just by being Mexico and having that Mexican Tradition, the El Tri mystique, which is to loose an important match at it most crucial time. And thusly breaking the hearts of all Mexicans everywhere.
it has taken you 100 years to achieve what has taken us 20 to do without really even trying.
The Truth is .. we would blow the rest the world out of water in this sport, if people like " Mexico " didnt need to it cling to, and hold onto like a blanket.. your only sporting bastion you have left.

Why can't anyone stick to the topic. This isn't US versus Mexico. It's Monarcas vs. Wizards. Unless Morelia fields an all pro-Mexican squad and KC fields an all pro-US squad, then stick to the topic.
Morelia just spanked KC. What's done is done. Shite happens, don't give me X-File excuses as to why and how what the state of the league is because of this. Shite on KC for this, not the league.
And leave out Mexico. This isn't a Mexico/US thread.
My thoughts really, I say no more.

Not just us. YOu use us as a measuring stick. I am talking in general. You guys are not consistant.
your celebration over the TRI indicates the greatness of our TRI.

Mexio has done very well in the Copa Americas. When they went to the finals in 93, many thought it was a fluke... but the fact that the semifinals is nothing new to them (4 out of 5), indicates that they can hang.

What a great ESPN story book. I can see it already...."NEWSFLASH.. THE US has only played soccer 20 years and already a world class team.
But i hope you are kidding. Its pathetic that you dont even know your own soccer history

This isnt about other sports. Its irrelevant. but you insist it is.
I could give a rats ass about basketball or football.
And this shyt about "if we wanted to, we could be the best" is crap.

The way I see it.
I'm a Southamerican and I really consider myself neutral in this Mexico-US debacle.
The way I see it, The US national team has done great things in the last few years (I mean, besides 98's WC) getting very near to Mexico and many times surpassing them. Are they better than the mexies?, well, you have to accept that the americans have won most of the latest matches, including a WC game, it's just a fact.
On the other hand, most of the friendlies are played in american soil, and I don't know if the US has ever won a game in Mexico; well, playing in that Azteca is pretty hard, for anyone.
The MLS-MFL is a different story, I certainly believe, having seen lots of both league's games, that the Liga Mexicana is quite some notches above, of course, they have been around for decades, they generally get better foreign talent and they have more teams.
Of course that is also a money thing, as far as I know they don't have a salary limit and other things. There's also the exposure and following, the MFL is Mexico's NFL, it's the country's main sporting competition, and these last few years they have had great success playing against us Southamericans in the Copa Libertadores.
Wraping things up, I believe the USAMNT is better than their Mexie counterpart right now, but their domestic league still has a lot of growing up to do.

All good points. Mexico definitely has a more refined domestic league but we are just starting. And on the other hand, its embarrassing to hear Americans say outrageous things like, "We can beat you without trying and we are the greatest sporting nation on earth," because its ethnocentric and idiotic.
