Who did you p*ss off? That's one tough opening (http://www.pompeyfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Fixtures/0,,10396,00.html).
@Derby
ManU
Bolton
@Chelski
@Arsenal
Liverpool
Y'all were first at the end of September last year. It's possible you could have 3 points a month into the season this time. Best of luck.
Thx,
Jay!

We took 3 points off of Man U,4 off of Liverpool,Arsenal didnt beat us and we could easily take 4 or more off of Derby.
Why worry we have to play everyone anyways at sometime in the season.

Repped. I'd rather get the toughest matches out of the way early anyway.

i dunno about that, its a double edged sword cuz if were beating crappy teams it may build up momentum, on the other hand playing tough teams will give better competition and make the easy matches easier

can anyone explain to me why teams play most of their pre-season friendlies against lower division teams?

When we was lower league we played mostly teams above us........its a ritual for pre season. Big teams play little so that the little ones can possibly beat them and they feel good about the new season.
Pre season does not mean a thing its just warm ups and a way of playing lots of players etc.

Besides what Barton said, money. The lower division teams get some much-need cash, the Premier teams get a not-too-taxing warmup.
